One Pearl vs New Breed Pearl
« on: January 12, 2009, 01:59:17 PM »
Has anyone thrown both of these? What are the differences, I would imagine they would be very close in reaction if drilled the same. I just got a NBP, but am debating on aquiring the One Pearl!

Well they are both relatively new releases and with the flooded market i'm sure there a very few if any with both balls. The obvious difference is that the NBP is a symmetric cored ball, the One Pearl is asymmetric(er well symmetric with a mass bias).

I would assume this though, the One Pearl would be sharper off the spot, the Coverstock on it makes the Playmaker one of the snapiest balls i've ever used and seen, and that is with a relatively smooth core in the V2 core. I would assume total hook is probably similar, conditions again similar, just the NBP getting into roll a littler earlier, and being smoother in comparison to the One Pearl.

All of this is assumption though, and with layout and surface prep differences i'm sure you could make a case for owning both, though on house shots I don't see the need.

I have seen the NBP and thrown it a few shots, the ball flat out hooks very Cell like movement for a Pearl ball.

A winner it is from throwing it and watching it hit, The One Pearl already has issues as not hooking from this board and the comments on the fill shot from PA to O'Neill.
