I've now seen two The Ones in action...

One thrown by a med/high rev lefty who averages 2teens and the other by a high rev righty who averages 190ish.

The lefty has his ball dulled some and it is very smooth and strong off the breakpoint and carries very good.

The righty has his ball highly polished and it is very snappy off the breakpoint and leaves some of the god-awfulest messes you've ever seen.

I've watched the lefty throw some very high scores with his while the righty has struggled to break 180 with his.

Advice to those who have this ball...dull that puppy some if you want really good reaction and carry.

BTW...I'm becoming more and more impressed with Ebo's latest releases...looks like they are heading in the right direction.

It all depends on your environment (oil type and lane surface) as to wether or not the OOB finish will work for you.  At our house I found OOB finish to be over sensitive to the transition, but we have synthetic heads and wood backends so it can be a voilent change in direction with any ball.  During our Ebonite Demo we tried the ball in OOB finish and most players had the same issue.  So we hit the entire ball with an abralon pad and it smoothed out the ball enough to make it more versatile / usefull.

But over the past 2 NEBA's  I've seen a ton of ONES on the lanes and most people seem to have left it in OOB finish, but have enough games on them that they have dulled naturally.  Just such a great ball *IF* you match up to it correctly.

I think it depends on the conditions and the bowler.  I have seen a guy dull the ONE way down, and it looks like a waste. Weak reaction, hits like a bag of rags. The majority of people having success with ONE are keeping it shined up and getting a stronger reaction.  Granted, with a flippy backend, you'll leave some eye-popping messes due to the angle you create upon impact, but its that angle that is so destructive in the pocket, also.  Its not a miracle ball, if you cannot hit a target consistantly, BAAAAD things will happen, like most balls.
