just missed a 300...
« on: March 01, 2007, 10:01:17 AM »
Hey Group

Well, I threw my TNV last night in the 3rd game as I was using my No-Mercy for game one and then brought in my TNV after the 7th frame of game two to line up for game 3.

So, I line up nicely at the end of game two so I strike in frame 8,9,10,11, and slam the pocket and leave the 10

Ok, so I am ready for game 3 and my line was great as I stayed in the same spot on both lanes and never really had to move and I go and shoot a 279 BUT it was as close to a 3 that could possibly be

 I freak'n bury it in the 5th and leave a 10 pin <grrr!>

             X X X X / X X X X X X X = 279  <sigh!>

Now comes the good part. I get up in the 10th and the ball comes off of my hand somewhat poorly and I leave a flat 10 and then my team mates yell to me that I was on the wrong lane <duh!!!!>

Can you believe it??? so since I was on the wrong lane I had to move over onto the correct lane and do it over so after I stop laughing I then get my poop together and then punch out in the 10th.....

Btw, I won the side pot in the 1st game with my No-Mercy and then the 3rd game with my TNV...it was priceless!!!

Good job, almost had it. Pretty lucky that you bowled on the wrong side. Good job!

Nice bowling, but I wouldn't say you just missed a 300.  Either way nice job.  So I'm guessing I should get rid of my lousy Domination and get a Total NV...yuk, I hate Ebonite, but when a ball is good.....

Hey Slack don't feel too badly.  I've seen a couple of blunders.

XXXXXXXXXXX- = 290
XXXXXXXXXX1/ = 281

The 281 was nuts...in a house with no out of bounds, somehow picks off the 10 pin.

The 290 was just crazy......no explanation needed.

ok i feel alittle better doing it on the first ball of the 10th than the last i would have definably felt much worse with that one. Of course i haven't gotten 9 in a row again most i've come close to since then is 7. Hopefully i'll get to use my new TNV fully this time around and maybe get that 9 in a row again and maybe not get so nervous i throw it in the gutter again

Well, maybe so but what I meant by that was that I had 12 perfect pockets shots,

however, that can be said with my first league game with my TNV in which I had a crushing first frame ball in which I left the 10 pin and then went sheet!! <sigh, again!!>

Negative that soldier, keep it if it works for you and YES, do get a TNV. For once all of the hype is true...

You got lucky that you could rebowl that shot in the 10th. The rule has been changed. It now says that the next bowler is required to bowl on the correct lane, doesn't say you get to bowl over.

Here's what RaioActive was talking about, but the frame only stands if more than one player on the same team has bowled on the wrong lane.  You were correct in rebowling the frame.

quote:
Bowling on Wrong Lane
Rule 9. In league or tournament play, a dead ball shall be called and the player or players required to rebowl
on the correct lane when:

a. One player bowls on the wrong lane.
b. One player from each team on the pair of lanes bowls on the wrong lane.

If more than one player on the same team bowls on the wrong lane in turn, all deliveries stand as bowled.  Upon discovery, bowlers shall complete subsequent frames on the correct lanes.

Guy last nite in our league goes front 11, PBA washout...

PBA washout being the 1/2/4/6/10 for a righty.. Never even had a chance..

295 is always interesting to have on an 11 in a row plaque.. I have one as well
