My TNV...stupid question.
« on: March 21, 2007, 03:51:24 PM »
Just got my TNV in the mail today.  The engraved writing on the ball is a light pink color.  All the TNVs that I have seen are orange.  I know that this has nothing to do with performance but was just wondering what does your TNV looks like.

Thanks,

Joe

Thanks Phoneman.  I just wanted to make sure that my TNV wasn't a blem.  I just wish that mine was an orange or a white color, but I will deal with the pinkish color

Thanks again,

Joe

just get some wax crayons and fill in the logo yourself

so does the wax crayon thing work pretty good?  Ive heard that a few times but never tried it out yet.  My widow logo is turning pink and im thinking about throwing some red back on it.

I do not think that this is a lasting solution - the wax can easily fall from the engravings. Additionally, the wax color stays soft and will collect dust and dirt en masse.

What works very well, as a durable and even oilproof solution, is water-based acryllic paint (glossy). Is a great option when you resurface the ball.  Clean the engravings with a steel needle or a mini drill, apply the color richly with a soft spatulum, let dry, and then sand the ball and prepare the surface as desired. Lasts very long, is hard and easy to clean. Did this on a couple of balls (even raised sale value on ebay ).

Some pics...
My (ugly) Hammer Particle got new engraving colors, switched from light yellow like the pin to bright blue/white: http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4196517

Trauma has renewed engravings with flourescent/day-glo color (just like new, and this thing is 5 years old!): http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3473691

I also switched the engraving color on my SR300 from green to light blue, just for confusion (no pic avalibale, but looks nice )

If you have nothing else to do, live out your creativity!
