tommy jones layout for the nvs

I have an nvs layed out with the pin under bridge and cg kicked slightly right.the mb is under and right of the thumb. puts the pin at 5 inches from my pap.
   I was wondering what the tj layout is and how much different it will make the ball perform,if any.it is a good ball with good carry and hit,its just tempermantal. Like it works when it wants to.

As per usual - one cannot tell what a drilling is for until you know at least the player's PAP, and some other data like ball speed and revs.

With a low track, this layout might IMHO be too weak for you to finish steadily, especially polished on on long oil or carrydown. If it is too erratic as it is but you like the overall reaction, I'd suggest to take the polish off, try some fine sanded surface (2-4.000 Abralon?) and see what happens. You might simply lack (early) traction.

By the way: I never get it why players want to have "trick layouts" of pros or drilling gurus, which are mostly only for a special purpose and for the specific player's sytle. Even if TJ has similar specs like you, I'd say it would be a control layout for a good-handed player, to prevent the ball from jerking around in the back end, probably on clean/fresh lanes.

I just drilled a Total NV with the TJ trick layout and the results were quite interesting.  If you want to hook it a little more (more axis rotation), it has a hook/set reaction, which has it's place especially when you're leaving the back row.  But if you play it straighter (less axis rotation) it has a very strong continuation. I don't think it'll work very well for lower rev rates.  These comments are based on 1 afternoon in a bowling center with it.  I'll have a better idea once I've thrown it a little more.

lol yeah and the secret is still secret.i was just asking not going to have it redrilled . I am a low speed low rev high track player. My ball is at 2000 dull and its as good as I guess anyhting else i have for what i use it for. I am learning the balls are just a means of transportation ,they can only transport info that we input,therefore they are only as good as we can make them,which is why all mine suck,lol.
