Most Versatile Ball in One series
« on: December 13, 2006, 10:18:43 PM »
Considering the V in GBV means Versatile (I think...) one might expect it to be either the Infinite One or the Angular One.  Also, considering I've heard it said more than once, that it is easier to tame a stronger ball than to create strength in a ball that has none; I might expect the Angular One with it's higher absorption rate to be stronger overall ball, and that it would also be the most versatile.

...But that's all theory.  I'd like to hear from someone (like Jeff Ussery... hint, hint) who has thrown or been around all of these balls recently and can share their personal experience.

Big One hands down. You can sand it or polish it, change the grit. Still reacts realy well, i would have to say its the most versitile One series ball

I will third that...

Even the Korean Rep who came to the demo days here in Manila, told me his own personal favorite was the Big One.

boondoggle -

I've obviously thrown all of these balls, and I have to say that I really haven't manipulated the coverstocks on too many of them.  I simply haven't had to.  I keep getting the desired ball reaction in the box condition.  I do have an original One that I sanded to 2000 Abralon to get it to read the pattern a little earlier.  And the ball was very successful at this by the way.  It's ball #2 in the "Only One" video that I did (www.putfile.com/jeffussery).

Other than that, I just haven't had to adjust any of the covers.

I've had them all. Angular is by far the most versatile.
