Polish on a SR300?
« on: January 16, 2007, 06:24:04 PM »
Anyone tried this? I love my SR300, but I find the coverstock with its OOB 4.000 grit Abralon very aggressive. On the lanes I use it, I frequently get the feeling that the high RG wants to push the ball down the lane, but somehow it burns out once it hits dry ground (In my case, tracked out lane area in the mid lane) and loses energy. Looking for length, I consider either hitting the SR300 up with a grey pad and apply Rough Buff, or sand it to 1.500 grit and apply some polish - even though I am afraid that in the latter case the ball might become quite jumpy?

Any experience with surface experiments or length adaptions of the coverstock so far? Thank you in advance!

Anglefire, sounds much like my experience with the ball when the track starts burning up on the lane. The SR300 will grip and want to hook.
It will be soon tracked out enough to justify soem surface measurements, and I think I will try some polish to exploit any leftover oil.

Drrev - not another ball, I have more than enough and the bill for lighter conditions is filled out by a Pure Hammer and a Sahara.

Thank you for the replies!
