The trickiest part, of course, is getting the polished surface back on these balls.
I scratched one while drilling it and ended up going from 600 to about 2000 grit wet sanding and finished it with rubbing compound then a trip to the lustre king. I could still see a difference, but the customer didn't notice the spot.
I think a product such as Finesse-It from 3M would do a much better job at removing the 2000 grit sanding lines and returning the surface to a glassy polish.
