Update on the SR300
« on: December 20, 2006, 04:45:24 AM »
This summer I drilled up an SR300 for my cousin, a 210 average bowler on THS, who had never thrown an award score.  The first week he threw it in league has shot 810!!!  Since then he has thrown 3 300's in our late league in less than 2 months!!!  He has passed me up for 300's on the season!  I cannot say enough about this ball and I think I'll have to try one somewhere down the line.

Typically, I am sort of an Ebonite hater but, I threw a buddys SR300 and it impressed the living hell out of me how good it was. I am surprised everyone is so infatuated with the "One" series based on the results I got from them but, everyone seems to overlook the magic this true diamond in the rough provides.

It is really sad that the SR300 is so overshadowed by the One series hype. It is IMHO a great THS ball, and with a unique reaction shape on the lane through its med. diff. and rather high RG, paired with an aggressive pearl coverstock.

I, too, love my SR300. It's a great ball on a medium THS, something I needed for when my Tropical Storm doesn't cut it.

I rate it as one of the most underrated balls of 2006. My pro shop, which is affiliated with Brunswick, has drilled up a few of them (2 or 3 I guess, Ebonite is not common here) - and when the guys were truly impressed by this ball. And, personally, can only agree. Nice piece, and value for money.

i think im the only person who does not like the sr300 im plugging mine up during the week in hopes to try out a different layout. mine just seems to hit like a terd and it rolls very bad. very over/under for me. so i hope i can fix that.

Good luck with that. Should be fixable. Different layout and some different surfaces.

+1, IMO it was just hype for me also but, different strokes for different folks I guess??? The SR300 was the real deal for me.

Has anyone adjusted the surface on their SR300? I assume it's easy because of how easy it was to change The One. I've got mine at 1000 scotchbrite and it is a little bit smoother in the backend. I haven't thrown many games at this surface, but I like what I've got so far.

Got to bowl on some fresh oil today (waited specifically until the oiler got down to my lanes).

It was probably because I didn't make the correct adjustments, but I swear, I've never had a trip 3 pin strike. The thing is...with this ball today, I hit 3 of these today and almost had a 4th in the three games I did play.

Great ball, I love it. I've got it down to 1000 scotchbrite, and it's made it a lot much smoother than what I had before.
