Title: V2 Clean question
Post by: L o G on January 10, 2004, 06:53:52 AM
For those that have thrown both how close is the V2 Clean to the Vortex 1?  I know that is a pretty basic question but that is all I can really say.

The V2 Clean is very very very like a V2 Pearl, I've never tried the V1 but if you have tried a V2 Pearl you'll know what I am talking about, we have a V2 Pearl with a little more lenght and a little less hook (What the V2 Pearl was supposed to be)

Thanks for the reply GendouIkari.  It may be like the V1 because I ahve throw botht he V1 and The V2 Pearl and he V2 pearl hooked more than the V1.

The coverstock of the V2 Clean has less texture than the Trimax coverstock on the V2 Sanded, V2 Pearl and the Vortex 1. Contrary to most coverstocks, the Trimax coverstock shows virtually no difference whether it is pearled or not.  We have done CATS testing on different patterns and with different cores with this cover and the differences are statistically insignificant when thrown against the same combination without pearl.  All our other coverstocks show a different hook motion when pearlized.

You will find the Clean to retain more energy than all previous V2's other than the Dry.  Faster ball speeds may find it too clean on most house patterns until the front blows up in the track area, unless accompanied by a higher rev rate.

If the house pattern has a heavier front load, the Prime Time will eliminate the squirt.  If the Prime Time loses energy too quickly and weak 10's as the pattern transitions, the V2 Clean is the ball to go to.  This is a great 1-2 punch on the mediums.

Brian,

I know the cores in the V2 sanded and the V1 were different, but if I drill a v2 sanded simular to the way I had my V1 and polish is might I get a simular reaction.  V1 was my fav ball but it cracked in 4 places.

Brian,

Two of my favorite balls of all time were the Nitro R^2 pearl and the V2 Pearl (why was this one discontinued so soon??)  How does the V2 Clean stack up to these?  I loved the V2 Pearl for its heavy roll characteristics without bleeding energy too soon like some other low RG pearlized resins.  Would the V2 Clean fit the bill, or is there something else in the Ebonite line that you would recommend?
