V2 Sanded?
« on: February 15, 2004, 06:35:13 PM »
Hey everyone,

Now that the wife is getting used to throwing finger-tip gear and turning the ball, she's improving by the week. Here is my question: She currently throws a Nitro R2 solid as her primary ball. I bought her a used Cherry Pearl saw to give her a little more pop when needed, but her somewhat inconsistent release has made this ball very erratic and uncontrollable for her. Therefore, I'm looking to pick up something else for her to use when the shot gets a little heavier. I'm thinking that, since the Nitro R2 has the V2 core, that a V2 sanded would be a nice choice. I've never thrown one myself, but I've heard the masses sing the praises of this one for years now. I figure that the cover is easily adjustable, and the movement is consistent, which should allow her some predictability that the Cherry Pearl just doesn't give her. What do you all think? Feel free to suggest drillings and coverstock prep as well. As for her specs, she has a lower track and slow to medium ball speed. Any help is appreciated.

Bowling is without a doubt the dumbest, most pointless, most idiotic excuse for a game that has ever been invented. So, what time are we bowling tomorrow?

OK Gene, I'll take a stab.....

I'd play off the Nitro...2 things you could do,....

drill the same and keep the sanded, well, uhmm,....sanded ?

OR

Match the Nitro cover w/ the V2, and put a slightly earlier drill on the V2, say cg out or pin UNDER ring....

just some basics I guess
