Those numbers are good relative to other balls in the line and not every ball designed and marketed does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. We all know that for a fact. The Apex if sanded and left dull, like the Freak says his was, may handle heavy oil, but then what particle ball, with a core like the Apex's, wouldn't. Well, heck, Most resin solids, sanded to 600, I can use on heavy oil That's not the point here. Out of the box, the Apex original was NOT for TRUE heavy oil patterns. It handled medium to medium-heavy just fine.
