V2 Sweet vs. V2 Clean
« on: March 30, 2005, 03:22:29 AM »
For those of you that have thrown both, how did they compare for you?  I did a Demo day last fall and the V2 Sweet was too much midlane read for my speed and revs.  I have a V2 clean that I'm thinking about redrilling, but I'd like some feedback first on how it compares to the Sweet.  I'm hoping that the difference in coverstock makes the ball more playable for me.

I have had a lot of experience with both of these balls and really feel that the V2 Clean is the more reliable ball of the two. The V2 Sweet was not as predictable  as the Clean. I think that had something to do with the pearl coverstock. I have had the Clean for a long time and it is my go to ball when they start getting nasty. The Sweet was very touchy, and I could only throw it on certain conditions.

Good luck and....

Jmac, you pretty well covered it when you said the Sweet is all about midlane.  The V2 Clean is a great ball for light to light medium conditions and hits just like the big boy.

ive used both balls. the sweet was very conditional. i talked with a few other guys and they said i laid out the ball incorrectly. it read too much in the midlane but still wanted to get some length. so i had a lot of over under on it.  i ended up selling it.

the clean i still have. i drilled it with the pin above the bridge and the cg in the midline about an inch over. i like this ball alot for 2 reasons. 1 it doesnt flare very much giving me a true read on the lanes. 2 the cover is versatile. i prefer it with some scotchbrite surface to it. it reads the lane exactly where i want it to. its a great compliment to my v2 black. when the clean is dull it reads at the same point as my v2 black but lays off in the back end where the v2 will continue to move.

hope this helps.
