NVS suppossed to be a bad ball?
« on: March 14, 2008, 03:07:51 AM »
Guy tore it up yesterday and boy this thing had smashing carry!

699!

And the ball looked so good; great hook on this thing!

i thought it was too then i figured out how to throw it and it no doubt smashes the pins . its one of the best carrying balls i have .much better for me polished and used for medium shots with short lenght.not a heavy oiler by any means ,but very good at what it does on mediums

I have to agree.  A surface change to 1000 Abralon plus Ebonite Factory polish really smooths out the back end while only slightly shortening its length.  The ball is much smoother and more controlable in this condition.  I find it both forgiving and versatile.  It's too bad the TNV and now the CNV have overshadowed this under rated piece.  This ball shines on lighter volumes, shorter patterns and most house shots.  It's my current benchmark.

Exactly!!!!  Now why is it that so many bowlers thought that this ball was a "hook monster in oil"

When used on the right condition,  the ball is great!!

I've heard from alot of people, if you knock the factory surface off of it, it really brings it alive.

One of my favorite balls in my arsenal.  I do find though that it's very shot specific.  People expecting an oil monster will be disappointed, but this ball moves off the dry like a train.

For me if there's a shot with a wall outside 2nd arrow, or a shot that requires you to get it to the back end and need that snap reaction this ball is excellent.  but for shots with gradual continuous movement on the lane with strong backend, this ball doesn't do that for me.

It gives me an angular look, but only off the dry.  I find it best for wall shots and long oil.
