Ordered my Total Nv tonight.

requested a 2 inch pin, and a 2-3 oz top.

gonna drill in pin under ring, with the mb about 1 1/2- 2 inches beside the thumb.

anyone had any luck with this drilling?

Actually, i'm very happy with it at 4K abralon. It's versatile enough now that I can play my A game for the first game and then move in deeper for the second two.

Roy, if you have any hand at all you do NOT want the TNV for short, light oil. Why on earth would someone want to take a ball which is built to be very strong, and drill the charactor out of it so it's usable on light oil? Would you buy a Corvette and remove 4 spark plugs?

That's why I'm asking these type of questions. I wanted a ball that can go long and still recover - much like how TJ throws it out and comes back screaming. Some people tells me that particular trick drill is for high rev players but don't exactly define the rev rate of a high rev player.

For a bowler with around 400 revs, throwing 16.5 to 17.5 mph means that by doing so, it'll be like removing 4 spark plugs out of a corvette - then sorry to have wasted your time.

Geeez, cop an attitude, why dont you?? I'm simply flabbergasted by the number of people who want to take the strongest ball they can find and drill for use on light oil. Thats all i'm saying. If you throw like TJ, and throw on the same oil as TJ, then by all means use TJ's equipment and layout. My guess is that you dont. Very very few do. So, given that, why not get a ball designed for light oil?? Bowling is STILL a game of common sense.

This is understood, but a little reading on the Ebonite website will tell you how strong the ball is. Also, there is way too much hype being displayed about this "trick" layout. Ball companies are good for this stuff. Just because TJ, who has a ton of hand and speed, can use this layout Enonite feels the need to advertise it. This does nothing but confuse people and make them think that by using this layout they will get TJ's ball reaction. I say shame on Ebonite for this practice.
Anyhow, I bowl on a 41 foot med/heavy pattern, average revs and 17 to 18 mph and the TNV is nearly too strong. This is why I say you shouldnt even think about the TNV, given your short, light oil.

Roy, I have to agree you don't want this ball if you see light and short oil. It does clear the heads if you have enough head oil, but when it wants to turn, it TURNS! I would look into something else, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with the fact that most people that see that drilling & the fact that TJ uses is, they think they will get that reaction. With my speed & revs, i SHOULD actually get a similar reaction, not to mention that im changing the layout slightly to give me less overall skid & more back end, only slightly tho.

I dont really want TJs reaction, but i DO need the length that this drill gives. On top of that, with everyone stating how insanely strong this ball is, i need to tame it or i will never be able to play any sort of a normal line with it.

As for using it on light oil....im sure its possible, maybe with like a 6 or 6.5" P2P & a weak MB. But i agree with the others that drilling a ball like this to be weak is kinda useless, especially considering how many lower & mid priced offerings r out there for med-dry to dry lanes.

Nope. Never said I was done. Even tho I had some bad experiences with Ebo, I still remain a loyal fan. This is for two reasons. Firstly, I understand that there isnt ANY company out there that is going to match EVERYTHING to MY game. They design different balls for a reason, and that is to match EVERYONE's games. Secondly, I have tried nearly every other maker on the market, with the exception of a few newer ones, and have found that they dont fit may game at all.

I was a big B fan back in the days of the Rino Pro series, and I even liked the Danger Zone. Since then, Brunswick hasnt built a ball that I can throw, comfortably and get the desired reaction. Ebonite has still matched my game the best. Problems? Certainly. The original One cracked through a 5/16 bridge, and it's replacement suffered cover death. I had a Primal Rage that was nothing more than a boat anchor right oob. I had a V2 Strong/r die. I had an xxcel that died. BUT, I have had many more that were/are excellent pieces from Ebo. The Big One, passed it down to my second son. A v2 Power, passed down to my third son. A Savage flip, passed down to my third son. And many more. My Angular, although not very strong at all for me, is a great "up the track" ball and hits hard. My TNV is very strong, but the longevity of the cover is yet to be determined. There have been some very good Ebo balls in between all of these, but you get the idea. You are correct, that i have had some problems with Ebo over the years, but they still have the best equipment to match my game.

i am high revs and high speed player and got the tj layout on mine.....ball gives me the length i need without losing energy for that backend movement....if you don't have the game it wioll not work...i have seen bowlers in my house with the same layout struggle because it does not suit their game.....this is a great ball FOR ME.....i have seen almost everyone buying this ball because of hype and again i think it is a great ball but don't buy it cause everyone else is...i have been watchin crappy and i mean crappy low rev low speed bowlers use this ball and still stink.....the best advise is talk to someone you trust who knows your game and can find a balll that will fit your game and the condition you are trying to hit.....it needs to fit in with the conditions and equiptment you have to complete your arsenal....just another opinion
