I've gone through a few V2 original blues and never liked a single one if it was polished. IMHO, its low-RG core and a shiny surface never seemed to match up to anything - not enough ball on long oil, but too early-rolling on dry..and too sensitive to wet-dry patterns. That's how I feel about the V2 Sweet. I guess that could've been expected since the Sweet is essentially a polished blue V2 Sanded. I should give it more use to track it up some, but that's difficult to do when you're not real confident with a ball in the first place.
OTOH, the V2 Pearl was a great match for me. The shell tweak was just different enough from the original V2 for me to use it on drier conditions without losing hit. My V2 Clean is similar, although it didn't start out that way. It was a little too long even on the drier stuff. But now, after some burn-in, I get a V2 Pearl-like reaction.
