What's it worth?
« on: February 22, 2012, 11:02:18 AM »
Had a gal come into the shop tonight wanting to sell her 13# NIB Ebonite V2 Sweet. I was pretty excited when she brought it in, until I weighed it lol...

Anyway, I know it's a sought after ball, so maybe a 13# still holds some value for the right person. She said she'd like to get $200 for it...I had to politely tell her not to get her hopes up, without being too blunt...because she's out of her mind.

What do you guys think something like that might be worth?

drilled? maybe 40-50 bucks
undrilled, maybe 75
the weight is a deal breaker, dont really know anybody, even decent women bowlers that use 13 lb

I paid 175 bucks for a undrilled yellow dot bleeder 5 years ago, but that was 16 lbs and I was on old wood lanes
No way she even gets 100 bucks although there are alot of stupid people out there

Thats kind of how I feel about it. I told my dad (he actually owns the shop) that he'd be lucky to get $120 for it at the maximum, but told him I'd atleast throw it up on the boards to see what everyone else would say.

Wish it was a 15lb...I know I could get rid of that for her. 13lb is a little kids ball and nobody wants to spend that money when you can get a Cyclone for 80 bucks...

Ive seen them new in 15lbs go low online in the past year. Consider who throws 13lbs, more then likely they are lower average bowlers who dont know what the ball is.  Id suggest for just the ball $50-60.
