Mission X vs Mission $250K.....
« on: February 21, 2012, 05:18:35 AM »
For all you Mission fans, i was wondering for those who own both or compared it either side by side with a friend, what differences do you see in both either dull or polished. Also, what patterns have you tried these two balls on and what are the strengths and weaknesses do you see.

Own two 250ks and threw the x at demo day.  The fit was good so I am responding.

The x is really meant for more oil.  Altho, with the x even with the strong cover, it really does got thru the head cleanly.  I was expecting it to check up early as the pattern laid out was house and light at that.  But, at the expense of sounding like a commercial, it is clean thru the heads, very discernable midlane roll and a finish that is more of a forward roll. (I know its just an optical thing, but it does look like it).  Continuation was good, I was expecting a lot of ten pin leaves as I thought the ball would be rolling out.  But it carried better than I thought it would given the oil laid out.

The 250k is the big boomer of the two, but a bit skittish on carrydown. (a little surface change would help the individual bowler).  It has more continuation than the X.  very strong recovery even when drill mild. Mine has a 6" pin to pap, but on long light oil, I still need to swing it.

Its more like the x is the Mercedes and the 250 is the Lambo.

I have both, drilled the same. 55x4 1/4x50

Mission 250K is very smooth for me, gives good length but without being jumpy. First ball out of my bag on medium.

Mission X is a strong ball. All the motion is in the backend. I dont see any early roll but like mentioned before, kind of a forward roll.
