Gamebreaker or a NM Beat'n
« on: July 27, 2007, 01:46:02 AM »
My pro shop got both of them in.  Looking for a heavy oil ball for a down and in shot.  Specs, high tracker, the pro shop knows my pap, medium revs and can throw between 14~19 mph.

Thanks for the input...

I have used the gamebreaker and its a great ball. I am sure the beat'n is a great ball as well as Hammer is making some great stuff right now..

If money is an issue, the gamebreaker is going to be cheaper..

I'm leaning towards the gamebreaker, but just wanted opinions.  Heard it's a lot of ball for a decent price.  hmmm...

Gamebreaker IS a great ball.....don't think youd be sorry if you went with one.  It is a bit more rolly and less snappy which makes it in my mind better suited for oil.

Well if you are going down and in with it, then I would suggest the GameBreaker. The NMB is better for opening up the lanes.

Thanks for the replies!!

The lanes that we bowl on are wood and they only strip the last 15 feet.  With me being a lefty I roll in very heavy oil.  It seems to be some what drier on the 1~4 board so that is where I shoot.  Try to shoot across and it just slides into the gutter.

What I have for now is The One and Fury taken down to 500.

Have you considered the Raw Hammer Anger?

Yes I have but I was looking for a ball with a RG lower than 2.5

Anger's RG is 2.5 right?

Not too familar with all the bowling terms yet since I just got back into bowling this January after a 17 year break...

Its not that bad of an idea to check rg ratings considering that you want something that is a bit rolly, but sometimes rg ratings can be misleading.  The Gamebreaker for instance is using the one cover, which though fairly strong is not going to check up as quickly as the the anger.  You have good options here, the Anger I think is the earliest rolling of the three due to the agressive oob surface and the high friction cover.  The Gamebreaker should get down the lane a bit further and have a strong arc.  While the Beatn should react at about the same point as the Gamebreaker, just in a much stronger fashion.
