Bowlers are hard to predict. Some of the Hopkinsville EBI stuff may become valuable, but it's too early to tell at this time. Good examples are the original Gamebreaker. It didn't seem to sell very well when it was being produced, then a year or so after it was discontinued, it was something everyone seemed to be looking for. Same with some of the Vibes.
Motiv saw the same thing with the Sigma Sting.
This would be because of the USBC changing the limits on what the RG and differential should be on a ball, and while these balls were made and over the limit from when those new limits took effect, they were grandfathered in. so they made a huge jump in price let alone availability because of their specs being so high.
I got a collectable Ebonite ball.
14lb, NIB, Ebonite NITRO/R. Made in 1993.
Started to drill it once. Changed my mind, and put it away.
that ball was hot. Brenda Norman made that ball look so hot in collegiates that she made everyone seeing her throw it rush to the closest pro shop to pick one up. I still have mine at 16, but haven't used it since the Nitro/R2 came out the first time in 1994/1995. I've since dropped to 15, so it's staying in the closet.
Though, I did pick up a 15lb NIB Ebonite Optyx Formula 1. Thought about punching that one up to replace the one I have that was SD just for me, but I'm thinking otherwise now, especially since I've been watching another one on Ebay that someone is trying to sell for $300, and no-one has went for it for the past 5 times it's been relisted.
