The One....I Don't Get It!
« on: February 07, 2006, 12:09:06 AM »
683 last night on drier China.  Some carry down by 2nd game....bowled after 4 man league.  Surface 2000 abralon no polish.

Started slide 24, arrows 14, break point 7 release more forward roll....finished slide 30, arrows 18 and break point 9 release off the side tio get it to read the break point harder.

I really don't get why some folks have a hard time with The One and all the surface talk about it.  Easiest reading ball I've used this year.

I have a label drilled ,pin in grip columbia white dot that i seem to have the best reaction with on lighter patterns i threw it last night and 40 to the gutter strike strike strike. my question is would this ball with a similar drilling give me the same reaction in heavier patterns.

No, I would go with a 5 x 5 Columbia Blue Dot for the heavier patterns.

Mine was great for about 7 weeks until the cover died. Now it gives me a little (ever so slight) bend and acts pretty much like a urethane ball, except it still hits like a truck. But, the cover IS dead and the very very strong hard arc move is gone for good. And yes, I have done all the usual things. Hook Again, surface prep, CPR, soak, etc.....................

Wonder what you are or aren't doing that others with this ball that have had it as long or longer than you have and have not lost any hook?  Most I know that have had this ball over 2 months say it gets stronger not weaker.

I have had mine now for close to a month and this has been my best purchase this year.

Maybe you got a lemon.

this ball has to be cleaned on a regular basis, period.. I wipe mine off with a micro fiber towel before each shot and clean it after each set on a spinner and I have the same reaction as I had over 100 geames ago.. This is a great ball, no doubt. I am getting The Big One drilled up tonight and can't wait..

jkiser01--I agree but I would do that for any ball I've used in the past 10 years.  Nothing new here. I use a micro fiber towel but usually most oil has already dissapered because of the soaker abilities of the ball.  I use Legends ball cleaner which I feel is one of the better ones out there.  I have not used Doc's Elixir because Ron Hickland feels it's better to not use anything.

I don't spin mine after every set.  But have adjusted to 2000 abralon which is the right surface for me with the lane condition, where I play on the lane and my technique/ball speed.

Nobody cares for his balls better than jkiser....anyone that's ever done a trade with him with vouch for his credibility.

Scott, however, is quite abusive with his balls.  Very rough on them.

House Hack.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  And, according to my therapist, that's not so bad.

Scientists have discovered a type of food that diminishes a woman's sex drive by upwards of 91%. It's called a wedding cake.

Huh?  How do you know house hack?
