I was trying to sell the ball and I guess the cover at 600 didnt look good, so I picked up to put some polish on it and I noticed this 3 inch crack !

WTF ? The ball anit moved since I took a picture of it a few days ago ? It's been siting in the closet, nothing on top of it or anything ?
You can see in the second pic that just the cover stock is cracked, not the filler. The insert holes are beveled and all. Whats really weird is its a straight line crack...Doesnt that mean a material defect ?
Man this sucks...I bought the ball last Sept and shot my first honer score of the season with it (299).
Is this a common problem with the Bomber Phazed Reactive ?...Now 'm kinda worried about my One and Big One ...

from what I can see it looks like when you got the ball drilled the bit might have not been sharp or vibration. The cover looks like the bit shaked a lot. That was a problem with storms x factor when it first came out. They recommeneded that you should sharpen the drill bit everytime you drill the newer balls.

Most important thing a pro shop should do is to take their time drilling into the cores. All of the Ebonite and Hammer are very dense so a drill bit may warp if drilled to quickly. If they take their time using sharp bits the percentage of balls cracking will decrease.

Dang! That's a serious crack. Try to think of the positive side... You get to try a new ball! Go nuts!
