Your recommendations needed...
« on: September 19, 2005, 06:19:35 PM »
Hi, my venerable tiger has now become a mellow pussycat.. the once sharp claws have become a bit stubbed.  Feral fangs are now good for tofu.... (4000 + games will do that to you I guess)

BAlls:

KI pearl
XXcel pearl
Bigtime pearl

Characteristic desired:

Not wild at the break (yes I know the layout will dictate this a lot), consistent reaction is what I'm after more.. surefooted even at the pin deck. Can be used on the widest range if at all possible..

to be used on:

light and long: say up to about 40 feet of light volume oil..
med and med:    maybe up to 35'  of med volume oil..

bowler: about 16-17 mph with approx 300 rev. Hi tracker..
PAP: 5 inches east, 1/2 inch north.  Can play from twig to deep inside..

please add comments with your suggestions, proposed layouts are also very welcome..

thanks in advance..

regards

My first thoughts were Fire or Crossfire Drilled label to get the proposed reaction you want. The Crossfire being a little less reactive and cleaner. You could also consider the Ice Drilled Label or the Black Ice drilled Stacked leverage.

I'd suggest you take a look at :

Game Time
Show Time
Cross Fire

Those would be the ones if you walked in my shop I'd show you first and go from there.

Thanks for the inputs.. for got to mention, will be bowling on Brunswick proanvil lanes primarily, with mild backends (compared to stateside), so I am sort of opting for a stronger cover.

I haven't check out the cross and ice on E's website yet.

keep the suggestions coming.

thanks in advance..

How about an XXcel? This is a pretty strong ball, and I made very good experience with it on longer medium pattrens. In box condition or slightly polished up and with a length drilling (pin above ring, maybe slightly kicked towwards PAP, BOMB next to thumb, 75-90 degree from PAP) could be a strong option - not snappy, but with a strong, continous move. It just could be too much for a light pattern, but you have speed good revs, which should fit IMHO well.
