I know, I know. In today's bowling world, it is hard to get a "bad" ball, but that isn't what I'm talking about. What I am talking about is performance, and on a wide variety of conditions so far.
Got to league this week, and found that since the oil machine "screwed up" last week, they had a tech come in who "fixed" it. Thing is, it was putting out the right pattern, just not the right volume.
Shot was "light and tight" to say the least. First game, I was able to stay towards the track area, as long as i was soft with the hand. Ran the first eight before it caught up with me, opened in the ninth, and finished with a 254.
This is where I got lost.
Tried to continue to play there with more speed, but that was a no go. Couldn't consistently throw it that way, and struggled. It showed with me only shooting a lousy 145 game, with several split/opens. UUGGGGHHHHHHH.
Last game, I decided to make a BIG move. I moved my feet 15 boards left (to 40) and my target 10 boards left (to 25). That was the answer!
Went from playing a soft hand in the track area, to swinging the ball 20 boards (or more at times), and this ball still had the power and move off the spot to get the job done.
After taking three frames to get lined up correctly, I then left a solid 8 in the fourth frame, then went 7 bagger, for a 246 last game.
254-145-246-645. Game one playing the track, game two lost as a duck in a forest fire, game three swinging the lane.
Anybody that is curious at all about the ELITE brand, and looking for a versatile ball that will perform on a variety of conditions, should really give this ball a long look. From what I've seen here, it stands up to every other ball in its catergory, and does it well.
