New Elite -- Gold Label
« on: November 07, 2007, 04:59:55 PM »
Don't know if this has already been posted, but...

http://www.elitebowling.com/bowling_balls/gold_label.shtml

Is that an actually new core?

It is, at least, a unique core - but I would not be sure if it was truly "new". Reminds me of the Fuze cores, or of the barrel-shaped thing inside of my Revolution Renegade (Which has a higher RG and no side slots).

The price on this one seems to be lower...at least for now.

Maybe it has to do with no longer having an old Brunswick core? Or just finally feeling the effects of bowlers not buying the stuff? Who knows.

It's a more interesting ball than all the other Elite products, so I suppose that's good.

Ball looks nice, but I'm guessing I find a ball that does the same thing for a cheaper price.  That being said, if I was on staff...yea I'd get one

$177.44 shipped from Bowlers Paradise, and $171.49 shipped from bowlingballsales.com.

Ball does look interesting.

If it is a new core, you would expect the price to be higher.  Using an old Brunswick core would be cheaper because the molds already exist and have been approved by the USBC.

I don't know for sure, but the rumored cost for developing and producing a new core is around $15k.

Still, it is nice to see the prices coming down.  Still a little high for me, but I'm not knocking the company or their pricing....whatever works for them.

I'm sure its not a bad ball, but with its specs (2.47RG - .038 Diff.) you can pick about 3-4 other balls on the market that will do about the same thing for $50 less.

I bet it is top notch quality, but until the prices come down you wont see all that many people throwing them.  I've only seen two (1 green alien, and 1 blue alien) elite balls in my area which is in a 3 bowling center radious. Those are ideal specs for what I am looking for (I like med/lower Diff.).  But if I want something close to that I'd get a Twisted Fury or Rival.
