The Hammer Four Density (4D) Core consists of four individual components, top flare ring, top cap, mid body and lower cap. All four-core parts are of different densities. The 4D-core body is placed in an offset position in the relation to the centerline of the ball. This is the ball’s drive mechanism.

The Hammer HPT, for Hammer Particle Technology, is the latest development in “Active” cover materials. HPT is the production process where millions of tiny material particles are interspersed throughout the urethanes used in producing the ball’s cover. These material particles create the ball’s grab on the lane resulting in increased frictin, causing more hook than balls with today’s reactive or conventional urethane covers.

The HPT cover creates a high rate of ball friction. Friction, combined with ball momentum, initiates the hook action while keeping the ball’s energy “in check” for devastating pin carry. The 4D core compliments the HPT cover, giving the ball drive and revs. What are the results? It’s coast to coast hook, baby! “Turning the Corner” just took on a whole new meaning.

I have been a Faball fan for years but was a bit turned off with the Syntactive Sledgehammer.  Now this ball on the other hand is an awesome piece of technology.  I drilled the HPT like I had my High rev 3-D drilled...the max hook drilling but I knew the cover wouold be too much for the lanes so I did a 6 way sand and took the cover to a 800 grit finish.  With this finish I get medium length (35 feet), a very hard roll and surprising backend.  I don't have a ton of wrist so backend with a dull ball is not normal in my hands. One thing that did bother me though is that when my ball arrived it had the CG kicked right about 1.5" from the line connecting the pin and HOT spot...made for a wicked weight hole.  My normal conditions BTW are fresh heads with 1 days worth of carrydown on wood lanes and this ball turned the corner hard.  Great ball but be careful how you drill it if the guy has slow ball speed.

a ball for OILY lanes then this is the ball for you!  There is no lane

that's oily for 4dhammer not to make the move to the pocket....and

hits really hard too! So if you have been hearing negative things about

it maybe they're just not using it in the right lane condition.....that's

why manufacturers created different ball types, right?

I recently got my 4-D and already love this ball.  I don't have enough wrist to use reactive balls on heavy oil unless I would play up second arrow.  This ball gives me more hook than I would of ever supspected for me. It allows me to swing the ball in heavy oil which give many avantages. I got it drilled for med. flare large smooth arc early roll. I have used once in  travling league far and I couldn't believe how much drive this ball had, I'm so use to leaving flat tens and  solid fives, I was amazed by the way  the ball reacted in the back end. This ball is almost as good as my high Rev. I have seen my team mate throwing one and he also has the same success story I have. Even though I'm a little partial to faball products I would recomend this ball to everyone.

this ball hooks awkwardly its not worth the £100 price tag buy a purple messenger instead it hooks more smoothly  and you can use more of the lane.
