The Reaper is designed for additional length and backend finish.
The new higher R.G., lower Differential Reaper XL core aids the Reaper in
creating exceptional length through the front part of the lane. The highly
polished Reactive Neoflex XL cover stock also assists in conserving
rotational energy thereby delaying the balls transition from skid to roll.
This leaves plenty of energy for backend finish where it is most needed on
medium to dry lane conditions. The Reaper is truly a "cut above the
competition."

Drilled my Reaper with the pin below the ring finger, kicked CG out 2 inches from center of span with small hole inch past my PAP. Left the ball out of box, and this ball is very clean in the front and very hard on the back, significantly stronger than my pearl nasty nail which is more of an arcing ball. Both hit quite well and the price is excellent as well.

Hammer has come out with another great ball and they seem to be on the right track with balls.

I am in love with Faball's current line. I think they are making one of the most bowler friendly lines of bowling balls in the industry. The Reaper is no exception. This ball offers all the length that the power player needs with the flip that the tweener or weaker hand release player needs. This ball floats thru the front of the lane as good as any ball i've seen in the past 5 years, and it has a ton of recovery. If you have a Pearl Nasty Nail, and need just a little more turn on the end, this is the ball for you. The only thing that hammer can do to make this an even better ball is to compliment it with a dull version with the same RG and differential that this ball has.

The Reaper is a great ball in this new line. The Reaper is able to get through the fronts, then gives you a good midlane read and reaction, with good punch in the pocket.

When you throw this next to the Reaper 2, you will notice these two balls compliment each other. The Reaper is a medium condition ball and the Reaper 2 is good to go to when the lanes start to dry up.

On a scale of 1-10, I think that ball is an 7.5 to 8. I think this is a great medium lane condition ball and it will give you a little more punch on the back then the Nasty Nail.

The Reaper is probably the best ball I have thrown. Drilled with the pin over the ring finger,this ball goes long with a hard angle back to the pocket. My old Reaper was drilled with the pin below the ring finger.Didnt get much out of it and the core cracked so that when I obtained my new one.

Before I was a StormChaser I was a big Hammerhead so when this long pinned Reaper arrived I decided to try it myself. I was in need of a length ball..something Storm doesn't have much of.

Specs: Top weight: 2 1/8, pin out 4 3/8 inches, gross weight 15-2.

The drilling: Wanting a ball for more length and since the pin was way out tehre I chose a pin over bridge drilling with CG kicked 2 1/2 inches towards PAP. The 5 1/2" pin to axis should provide great length with the CG position providing a more controlled backend reaction.

The performance: First impressions are important and I was not impressed first time out. The lanes were my house lanes...average 40 feet of oil, stripped twice a week. I was bowling the day before the next strip and after a 5 man men's league. The ball went very straight but hit very hard. A little bit of modification to wrist position and alignment and it was in the pocket but with only slightly more hook than my SoccerBall. Second attempt was with a broken down shot of the hi vis oil. My X-it went too early, the Gold snapped too hard so I tried the Reaper. Standing 22 and playing 12 to 7 got in the pocket but not good carry. Moved 2 and 2 left and found the edge and WOW the ball came alive. The ball projected 45 feet and arced hard into the pocket with a hit like the old Hammers in the late 80's.

I think this is an excellent ball if you need length but do not want a thunderous backend. The Reaper shows a hard arc at the breakpoint and is a great ball when the heavy hookers dry out the track. Great ball Faball !!!

Hello All,

I got this ball when it first came out and must say I was not happy at all with it. I had it drilled for either d or e on faball's drilling pattern. The thing I did not like about this ball is it seemed to go long and snap really hard/wierd on the back end. I've had it polished and seem to be scoring better with it now. It seems to be a fairly strong ball on med oil for me. Dry I seem to struggle with it. I have a love/hate with this ball. But over all I'm happy I bought it. Rating of 8 out of 10.

I both the Reaper about a week ago, had it drilled for leverage. The problem? .... It's a DRY lane only ball. It's acting like a polyester ball except that it hits hard(like all hammer balls). I even tried it on a light oil condition and it's still going straight.

So in conclusion, if the house condition in your alleys is dry, this is the ball for you.

Hammerheads and others looking for a great medium condition ball!

This is it. Another great cheapie! Drilled Pin 4 1/4 to Pap Stacked. Three inch pin out ball results in a 4 1/4 X 3 5/8 for me. Ending Top 3/4, Side 5/8, finger 1/2.

Can you say smooth! This ball is much like a Ti Messenger but a little more predictable. Not as long as the promo materials say. This will cover a broad range of medium conditions.

I've been looking for a ball to replace my smooth big carrying Sledgehammer which covered a broad range of medium and could really handle just about any type of strong backend condition.

This is it. This year I've been handling all long oil patterns and carrydown in the medium to medium heavy range with my outstanding Revolution Rebel ECX. This ball just keeps coming thru carrydown due to its asymmetric core. But once the shot transitions to a stronger backend I have been lost.

This ball looks like the answer. Smooth and with lots of midlane this ball seeks dry before making its move.

High pocket percentage and lots of carry from this smooth reacting ball.

In comparison to some other greats,

this ball is earlier than the Hawk(polished with Ultimate Black Magic), which is slightly earlier than the Tiger(pearl). In size of backends this is smoother than the Hawk, which is slightly smoother than the Tiger, which has humungous symmetrical core backend.

All 3 of these balls are great! I would expect this ball to be played inside a little less than the Hawk and Tiger. This ball is going in the bag for a while, even smooth and predictable. To compliment the Rebel ECX.

Drilled 10:30 (lefty) label. goes long but when it hits dry it will BITE! I grabs hard but not snappy and diggs through the pocket. Keeps pins low and seems to always find ways to strike. A little touchy sometimes if the shot gives over under. So far just used in one house which I wouldn't say I have a great shot and like most skiddy stuff on skiddy conditions, this ball can be squirty, but unlike my other squirty stuff, when this ball hits the pocket it carries more often than not.

I must admit that I have been skeptical about the ball of the month club, but the later reactive stuff do seem to carry much better than the old stuff. I know this because I do not like throwing away equipment and would resurface, tweak and freak with the older stuff and truthfully they have not proven my theory about older resin balls are as good as the newer ones.

2nd review,

This ball is getting better! Drilled 12:30 lefty
pin touching ring finger. This ball is smooth and as I'm using it a little more and getting a little track in it is hitting harder and harder.

Reminds me a lot of the Ti Messenger but it might turn and hit a little harder!
Of course this has the CG kicked out that had a label drilling with the cg kicked in to the grip center.

My opinion is exactly like Tony Gee's(previous review on this ball) when this ball hits the dry it bites, squares up, and punches the pocket as hard as any ball I have. With a smooth but strong movement! This is a great medium coupling with the Control Drilled Sledgehammer I own!

Packs a big loud inexpensive punch.

Getting better.

Mine I had drilled leverage to save the backend punch. But on oil this ball cannot deliver. Leave 10's all night with this thing. On dry or barely medium, you can kill with it. Hits so hard it's scary. If your ball comes back with an oil track put this one away.

Hi,

I am a strong bowler who throws it fairly hard with a mean hook. I like the Reaper however its' shiny finish is nopt good. I am going to get it resurfaced then I will post another review but here is what I have to say about it now.

Some days it will hook a lot when there is little oil then other days it will not hook much on the smae lane conditions.
which makes it inconsistent. I have found you have a better shot at brooklyn strikes then good accurate strikes.. My ball is 15# has a 1/4" weight hole and big spand..
When the ball is on it is hard to complain so my rating right now is a 6 out of 10.

My specs, pap 5"over 3/4" up, speed 18.5, revs 18, and axis of rotation 50 degrees. Ball weighed 15lb with 3 oz topweight, pin out 3" and drilled label leverage. I tried this ball on a house condition after a first league shift and boy was I pleasantly surpised hard arc not flip at about 42 feet. This ball saves energy very well and can be used on all mediums by adjusting your speed and our hand. The only thing I would avoid with his ball is heavy oil (box cond.) it will skate. Overall keep in box cond and it will produce great results. Sanding will help it oil but that is where there are oil balls out there.

I have now had this ball for six years and just brought it back out. I started by having it re-gripped because I had not used it for four years and the grips deformed a little. This is back to my #1 ball. I don't know what happened while this ball was sitting in my garage, but it's a beast. I have been struggling in my league that I'm in, (175 average) even though I've averaged 185-190 the last two leagues that I've been in. I brought this ball back last week and bowled a 206,212,207 for a 625 series. Not the greatest, but the only thing I was leaving was splits when I threw the ball soft and came in high. Never left a singel ten pin on very oily conditions. I still think this ball is great.
