3-D Offset Super Hook
« on: June 06, 2007, 12:22:11 PM »
Does anyone have and use this ball still. I picked one up through a trade (on Ballreviews of course) and had it re-drilled near the end of last season. Only got to use it once or twice in league, but the ball rolled and hit very impressive. Had heard this one was the turd of the 3-D Offset lineup, but I don't buy that. Even with a strong stacked drill and a surface of 800 grit, this one got more length than my 3-D Offset High Rev and had more backend than alot of my pearls. It had to share time with a 4-D Reactive I also got from a user here (G_thing, the man!). This ball is a beast as well! Both deserving of praise in a future review. Just curious if any Hammerheads out there still use either of these gems. Let's keep the Faball posts coming! G_thing, you have more 3-D's than anyone out there!! I expect to hear some input from you after league tonight. Hope you left your one Lane #1 ball at home and took the Hammer quads with you!!!!

Had one on its 2nd drill myself back when I was more of a recreational bowler and didn't know any better.  About the only thing I remember is it seemed to pick up every speck of dirt, grease, and oil as it traveled down the lanes and back.

This was one of me first balls.  Really liked it back in the day.  I still got it.  Gave me a lot of backend with oil capibilities, almost like a weak widow today.

Shhhhh.....no one is suppose to know I'm still here!!

Is the world really in a sad state when I have that many 3D and 4D offsets?  Funny thing is that I just counted what I have at work today.  I believe the count was 9 3D Offset Hi-Rev, most are all single drills I believe, 3 3D Offset Pearls, single drills too I think, 1 3D Offset SuperFlip, and 1 4D HPT.  Let's not also forget the 4 SledgeHammers I have there too!!

And that doesn't count the Offset Hi-Rev, Sledge and Bravo (Pearl Offset second) I use in league!!

I will say this over and over and over.....nothing like the old stuff.  Got one guy on the team throwing a Widow....cranking the ball...watching it said right by the one to the 2 pin.  Me?  Play my Bravo with a slight belly shot probably out to 5 and watch it come screaming back.  As the line changes, I move right and throw it a little harder up the gutter.  Gotta love the old stuff for the fact that it doesn't overreact.
