Don't bury Faball just yet

Just wanted to chime in and say that Faball isn't 6 feet under just yet. Used my old reliable 3-D High Rev last night to tame a wicked pair for a nice 642 set. Doesn't sound like much, but when the next highest set came in at a 602, and 8 of the 10 bowlers on the pair are +200 avg. bowlers, puts things in a different light. High Rev didn't overreact on the flying backends and it didn't leave many single pin leaves. Put it on the mark, let er rev it up, and you can be sure that 10 are going to be sucked into the pit! Hey Ebonite, why don't your re-make THIS ball? What a class act!

Maybe you should get a Big blue.  
That would have revved and given you a tame back end.  
Maybe your arsenal needs updating.   Get away from the Dead FAB stuff and into the 21st century.   Probably could have been a lot better than 640+.

Ebonite will never remake the 3-D Offset because it was Mo Pinel's core design. Fab had to pay Mo a fee for every 3-D (4-D and Sledgehammer too) Ball sold. That was one thing which helped them into bankruptcy. Of course paying Walter Ray the obscene amount of money they were to throw old equipment on TV didn't help either.

I'll agree with the post about the MoRich balls. The core in the MoRich balls is strikingly similar to the 3-D line and may give you the reaction you are seeking.

As for the 3-D being a good ball for flying backends, I'll disagree with that one. I wish I had enough oil around here to throw a ball with that much surface and core. Right now I am relegated to plastic after game 1 unless I want to mess with the 5th arrow. And people ask what has happened to the integrity in our s;port.....

You go Doug.  Pretty much what I said in a post couple weeks ago.  Mfg.s seem to run the sport make the huge hookers and then not enough oil to use them....unless you are a bowling/discus thrower.  It's not bowling it's heav and chuck 'em!

Thanks for having my back G! If anyone had seen you toss that 300 with your trusty High Rev, they would be thinking the same as you and I. Sure, Faball made some bad business decisions near the end, but you cannot discount the fact that they hit a couple out of the park! The High Rev and Sledgehammer come to mind right away. I'm sure other Faball fans out there will back that up (i.e. Luckylefty, Bob Hylka, even Doug Sterner)
As far as "upgrading" my arsenal to the 21st century, currently have in the bag the following- Diesel Particle, Power Diesel, Blade Solid, and Blade Pearl. Unfortunately I don't have a 6 ball roller, so gotta rotate the stock. I do know that the 3-D High Rev has earned a permanent spot in the bag for when all else fails. Not saying that a Big Blue might not match up well for me, but for now, I think I got enough to work with.
Gotta also agree with G that although my High Rev was made in 1997, it's showing no signs of dying. I keep it clean after every set and it hits as hard as the day I got it.

Doug is correct, that is why ebonite has not reproduced it. I wonder why Mo hasn't used it in his line of balls? must be some sort of time frame b4 he's aloud to use it???
