Title: Faball Nail Core?
Post by: Sir Bowl-A-Lot on May 02, 2007, 05:15:30 AM
Does anyone know what core the original blue polished Faball Nail had?

It had a Hammer Core, of course.

I actually have and use that ball from time time.  If I had to guess, I would say it has a pancake block in it.  It doesn't roll like it has a real core.  But I am not sure.  I bet the Visionary guru Jason Wonders knows the real answer.  He probably has some inside info from the old Faball days.

The urethane Nail had a 2 piece weight block and a thick cover from what I remember. A friend of mine's cracked and after he "finished" the job and it split in two we were able to see the weight block. I can't remember if it was the original Hammer weight block or not.

Thanks, that really helped.

Actually the core was shaped like the float in a toilet if I remember correctly

the original blue urethane nail had the same core as all the other hammers of the day, like it has been stated, looked kind of like a toilet tank float. that was surrounded by a thick urethane shell, harder than the black hammer and polished. was the premier light/short oil ball of it's day IMHO.

It had a typical, round hammer core, same as all the classic urethanes. Basically, it is a blue pink hammer. Great for very dry conditions.

The original BLue Urethane Nail had the same "hand grenade" shaped core as the other Hammers .

The later Nails (purple pearl and blue sanded resins) had a lightbulb like the Beast.
