UPDATE on Stolen Equipment on E-Bay
« on: November 21, 2005, 11:46:31 AM »
It has come to my attention that VERY recently someone has stolen some equipment from Island Lanes in Grand Island NY. This equipment is now up for sale on E-Bay!  As I am typing this there are several very mad bowlers at the NY State Police Barracks filing charges.
Beware of the following E-Bayer, and anything coming from the Grand Island, Niagara Falls and Tonawanda areas!

The E-Bayer is :

That exact link is my son's ball! I for one may be paying a visit!

The "Perp" as stated was 17 years old, and bowls for the Grand Island High School, where my son bowled. Besides awaiting to see what legal action is being taken, we are also awaiting to see what action the school takes, and the Island Lanes.

Besides my sons, another '05 grad had equipment stolen (who has a younger brother bowling for the same high school), as well as others. They were stolen from a "back area" at Island Lanes, which has VERY limited access. This is the lanes where the Grand Island High School practices and has home matches.

Needless to say I am glad to have back in my possession two old favorites that my son had borrowed (we have identical spans/pitches, he only adds a piece of tape to the thumb and a shim in each grip). My El Nino (which I shot my 1st 297 with, while "Bakes" and Jurek cheered me on), and a Storm Freedom (won a lot of $$$ with that limited edition ball....which I won).

Thanx to some honest people, the ending is better than most of this type!

So why is this guy still a registered user with Ebay? someone needs to notify ebay too, and let them know what was going on. they don't have much tolerance for fencing stolen goods...

A friend of mine that runs estate sales had a very unique clock stolen from a sale. A couple of days later she saw it on ebay. She contacted the police - then bought the item on ebay, and set up the guy who actually appraised the item as the "pick up" man - who met with the seller and received the merchandise. Cops were on hand - the guy admitted everything... And he's no longer welcome on ebay.
