You can debate this stuff all you want as long as you don't lose site of the fact that Danny Wiseman is a great guy!!  If you look at the other stuff he sells on his site, it's all reasonably priced and good quality.  If you don't want to pay the $20 for shipping, then DON'T BID!!  I live in York, PA and could've driven down to pick it up if I'd have wanted to deal with the traffic and pay the gas prices (talk about gouging!! ), but it was more convenient to just pay the $20 and get my ball....

FYI - when we ship anything from ebay auction sales, it's actual shipping cost plus a handling fee, which ranges from 50 cents to 1.50. We charge the handling fee because we sell full time on ebay, and spend a FORTUNE on shipping supplies. Bubble wrap, peanuts, bubble mailers, etc.

And - if a package is at all heavy for it's size, we ONLY use fedex ground.
The good news about UPS is that they handle their claims quickly. The bad news is that there's WAAAAYYYY too many of them.
