All,

This stuff is happening way to much. I am in the middle of dealing with that right now. Is there anything we can do to protect ourselves? Its a shame a few bad apples have to screw it up for everyone else.

Any ideas?

They need to bring back the good transaction forum where we can post about our dealings with other members of the site.

i think they should do a ratings system just like ebay......  that way we have an idea of the possible bad dealings  and maybe eliminate them......

I know everyone doesn't have digital cameras, but a picture is worth a thousand words every time. Even then you can have hidden flaws, but you at least have a chance to see what you're getting. If you want to be sure of the product, insist on pictures when buying.

Doesn't do any good though Ken if they don't send the product like what happened to Brian.  It is a rough situation.

Well we know he has one.  He apparently never sent it to Brian.

It requires quite a bit of work to put an online rating system in place, but over time it is quite beneficial for everyone.  Buyers will have a little better idea about who they are dealing with as a prospective seller, and people who sell equipment on here who constantly engage in professionalism are rewarded with a good reputation, which to this point is only done so through word of mouth from other users.  For the sites administrators, having a rating system unique to ballreviews gives the site some stickiness.  People that have built up a large amount of positive ratings on ball reviews are more likely to continue to sell on ball reviews and enjoy the rating.  By moving to another site, they wouldn't have the benefit of the good rating or reputation that they have built on Ballreviews. You see, everyone benefits.  Are you there, administrator??

There used to be a forum that was just about buyer/sellers rating.  You could look there and see what others had to say about a person before you made your transaction.  That is where I learned that drillwizard, madmax, etc all had good responses.

It whould be brought back,  This was also a forum were the online shops could be discussed.  It jusy put all these scattered warnings and recommendation in one place.

Hydranine screwed me out of $45 too.  I agree about another forum needed to rate how well a transaction goes.

Last year I bought 6 balls from this site.  2 of them needed resurfaced before I could use them, 2 of them were 16lb instead of 15lb, and 2 of them were just as described.  You are better off buying new from Buddies Pro Shop.  They give me exactly what I want at a fair price.
