Looking for Grips - Where to buy
« on: January 12, 2005, 03:35:18 AM »
I am looking to buy 5 sets of finger inserts but I can not seem to find the Vise Grips that are listed by number not size.  I would consider buying a bag of 10 of each if the price is good. All the pro shops around here want 10 dollars for a set of grips and that is rediculous.  I have a the grip remover and glue so i feel like i get ripped off going to the shop and they want the same amount if they sell you the grips or do it them selves.  I need 4 1/2 and 2 1/2.

pba1g11 usually has them.

I've found them on ebay for 49 cents each - but they're listed by size.
Is there a conversion chart, so you'd know what size you need?

Mumzie,

haven't heard from Michael in many, many months; or so it seems. I just ordered from USA Bowler.
http://www.usabowler.com/category-product.asp?sid=255428096&catid=63&category=Grips/Inserts

Prices seemed not unresonable:
$1.95 each or mixed bag of your choice, 25 for $45.
Have to wait to see how the service is.

buddies's proshop also has vise inserts.  I order from them a couple weeks ago and the arrived 2 days later.  Price was fair...  (they were listed as $5 a set: http://www.buddiesproshop.com/products/5-Bowling+Accessories/29-Vise+Grip/NULL/4/16page16.htm).  May not be the best price, but you can be pretty sure they will arrive.  On a side note, last time I heard from Mike was Nov 1st when he told me that he would take care of an order I had placed with him back in May...  I still haven't seen anything... so I would say that this might not be the best time to order from him.. LOL

Good luck,

I buy most of mine from Wild Octopus. Prices are very good. They come in bags of 10.

For vise grips a Size 6 is 3/4 and every 1/2 size goes up or down by 1/64 size

Lane, I believe that is 1/32 and not 1/64. I normally use Turbo Grips, but use Vise on occassion. I require a size 7 (25/32 marked right on the grip) and size 8 (13/16 marked right on the grip)
