« on: August 13, 2008, 04:25:47 PM »
Hi everyone, I am currently looking for a mediumish solid reactive, like a storm ultra hot, jolt solid, brunswick avalanche solid, roto grip saturn, something along these lines. If you guys have anything like this for sale cheap, let me know thanks

The Avalanch Solid maybe one of the best mid priced balls I have ever seen. They guys that play tournaments use these durn things regular! I havnt had one but I wouldnt be affraid to try one. The Pearl is a hit or miss kind of ball but the Solid is a huge winner.... Hope this helps, John

Plenty of cheap ebay auctions lately on the following deals:

Thunderstruck Solid smooth great cheap ball

Jolt Particle and Solid

Prime zone same ball as the Absolute Inferno won a ball today with perfect specs for 53.95 shipped. Killer auction to steal for that price.

Horizon Solid seen alot on ebay recently

Copperhead for under 100 shipped

I am going to go for the jolt solid I think, will be a little sooner than my hot rod and arc off the spot on the cheetah for me.

If you can find one, a Blue Vibe will be very smooth and cover all medium conditions, and its priced cheaper because it is considered an entry level (although ALL of the vibes are insanely more ball than they claim to be)
Also, whoever said the Rotogrip Pluto is also right, a very smooth ball that will cover all mediums and even carrydown on mediums, very good ball.

unless you have quite a bit of hand, a Jolt solid wont be a good medium oil ball.

Yes, thank you Blisters. I have thought about the blue vibe, but everyone that I have seen is kind of out of my price range though. I have given the pluto a thought, but I was looking for something a step up from my hot rod and a step down from my duece.

SVstar, that may be true, but it also depends on how you drill the ball and what surface you put on it. A jolt solid with a short pin under my fingers would be pretty close to what I am looking for. Because my too hot roles too late and my hot rod might be a little better, but a mild solid should fill that gap there for me

I understand what you are saying, but the Cheetah pattern has been changed.
So it is a little more difficult to battle

Ok, well I have heard that the cheetah has been changed, but still having a mild solid that roles smoother would still benefit me if and when it dries up some on the cheetah. I do have 3 strong solids already, a passion, duece and a vertigo so if I have to land up using one of those to start off then I'll use one of them then switch to the milder solid if it calls for it.

For instance, the other day I was bowling on a fresh cheetah pattern using my passion that has some polish on it and I was having a hard time keeping it on the right side of the head pin. So I try my too hot and that ball varely makes it to the 1-3 even after slowing down my speed. There was a lot of head oil, but a very dry backend.

from what I have seen and know, a Jolt solid is very similar to Too Hot. The Jolts were replacements for the Hot line.

To me, the Pluto and Street Rod Solid are similar reactions to the Too Hot and Jolt, but are overall stronger balls and will react just a little bit more.
