Columbia Icon 300 "Weight 2nds" on E-bay
« on: July 01, 2003, 06:52:25 AM »
I've listed some Icon 300s on e-bay. The balls are for the most part "weight 2nds," i.e., the 16-lbs are too light to be sold as 16-lbs and too heavy to be sold as 15-lbs.

The 15-lbs are too light to sell as 15-lbs

Specs are posted for each ball.

That's correct; might be slightly off-color, or there may be some "phasing" in the coverstock.

Some of the balls coming out of the Columbia300 plant have "phasing" in the coverstock, which are faint, white lines; this includes Morich, Track, and AMF balls made there.

Columbia does not publicly admit this, but some bowlers feel the hook potential for balls with "phasing" is increased slightly.
