Question whether to sell balls plugged or single drill?
« on: December 07, 2013, 04:26:34 PM »
If I was buying a used ball I would think that a ball that was already plugged would sell better and have more value.
But it seems that people would rather buy a single drill over plugged these days.  Comments?

Depends on the previous drilling. For me, if a ball has a good layout and was drilled with grips, it's cheaper to plug the thumb than to have to fully drill 3 new holes

Yeah. If it's pin above/below bridge, label leverage or something common, I prefer single drill.

If you are left-handed or tried a unique layout, it may be better to plug it first, but if it isn't extremely cheap, it still may not be worth it.

I agree with your guys replies...I just think that everyone pitches would be different.
And span...

Also what if the used ball had the Vise IT or Turbo Switch grip in it ?

I would think that it would be better to plug the ball.

Yeah for me I'd be more likely to bite in a plugged ball. It's highly unlikely that a SD ball would have my 5+ inch span. And I'm done with just having thumb moved. I'd prefer to hand my driller a clean slate and let him lay it out for ME.

When I see used balls with SD, all I see are the dollars I'd have to spend to fill and redrill. It's cheaper for me to buy a new ball than a single drill (generally).

Now that I have no grips and use the I.T. System I have to do full plug on any used ball I get. So in my case I guess a full plug would be more appealing as long as its good plug work
