I usually use an Ebonite Blue/Violet Tornado for this shot, but I'm wanting something hits a little harder and has a better weight block to increase my carry a little better.

Plus the Blue/Violet Tornado is a solid reactive and I want something that is "pearl" for EXCELLENT clearence through the heads! This Tornado has just got too strong of a cover to get through the heads as clean as I would like on this shot. I even thought about the "pearl" Red/Silver Tornado, also!

I thought about the Columbia WILD, but I hear that they are not "pearl" so I don't know if that would work? And also, I worry about the "carry" potential since that weightblock is maybe too weak? And I don't think that the WILD would have enough backend for my taste.

The Savage Flip is close to what I'm looking for, as it's very clean but it has so much flare that it checks up a little too early on this shot.

15lb only, and drilled right handed.

I dont have one for sale, but if your not company selective, look at an x-factor, its EXACTLY what you just said. Clean heads, monster backend, quite snappy, or mellow if you want it to be.

If a ball has too much flare in the heads.

Easy to fix!

Move pin even past bridge.  To over or under the middle finger.

This takes out early flare.

I've done this on bunch of balls that were too strong too early and it is amazing the change in length and decrease in midlane one gets.

I've seen the Savage flip!  Good ball!  Long and straight and then a .....
Savage flip!

PS the Red Tornado for some reason checks up even sooner than the Blue Violet.

Why I don't know but everyone is amazed at the strenth of the Red Tornado.

Thanks LuckyLefty!

The Savage Flip is now currently drilled with the PIN Beside and Touching my ring finger and CG 2" below and in 1:00 direction from the PIN... basically about 3/4" out to the right from my center line.

I'm very weary of placing the PIN above the middle finger for fear of hitting the holes with my flare rings... I had a TOO HOT drilled with the PIN centered above the fingers and that ball bounced all the way down the lane, but when I re-drilled it with the PIN above the ring it rolled great.

I may redrill with the PIN above the middle finger, but I hope it doesn't hit the holes.

Well, if you are afraid of ruining a good ball.

Get a lower flare ball and drill more like your standard,

I don't have one but I think the Sonic Boom is quite nice.
Why I say that is I have a Sonic X which is a lower flare version of boom and it is beautiful for what it is.  Nice midlane with a touch of curl and hit at back.  The Sonic Boom will allow a small swing shot!

Also I got a Spirit II for this shot and like but it really has a smooth snap.
Not like a Savage flip.  Probably too smooth for what you want. Light particle.
Just stronger than the Sonic X and drilled 4 1/4 X 3 1/2.  Just like Sonic X.

I have liked Reaction Rip, and Battle Zone Bullet in this class but they are higher flare!

You simply can't beat a Chrome/Yellow Power Groove for what you are looking for in that type of ball reaction.  Inexpensive and truly hits HARD!

Actually despite what anyone says the Wild is a great ball.  I happened to go 802 with it in Lowell; 245, 277, 280.  It's got great carry for a low priced ball. Great backend.

A deuce or a rip might be what your looking for.  The rip goes great through the heads and flips at the very end, is a pearl ball and carries exceptionally well.  I do have one for sale or trade.  Let  me know.
