Never plugged a ball myself so i might be way off but couldn't you use like the old metal ice cube trays or something like that?

card, the problem with that is that they wouldnt fit into the thumb hole. They dont like melt down the plug again, they simply put the hardened pieced in the bottom of the thumb hole, and pour plug over and around it.

You can get plastic ice trays that are smaller.  That's what I think I've seen used normally.  Though Bullred or someone mentioned that the plug might destroy the tray - I've no idea.

Classic Bowling Products have them.  They are like $5 or $6 bucks.

the eckerd drug store around here sells those.  i'm from east syracuse, ny, so i am not sure if anyone else sells these outside of my state, but i would imagine that a wal-mart/k-mart or anyother store that sells things like that will have them.

Is it bad when you have to list the many bowling balls you've had on MULTIPLE sheets of paper? 148 and counting..............

Plug saver trays were a popular thing in the past.  Now, the price of plug has come down, you can get a kit of Ebonite Everclear for under $100.

The problem with the small ice cube trays was... the plug didn't come out and if it heated up, the plug would melt the tray.

The Plug Saver tray by Tech-Line is smoother and the plug comes out easier.  I will see if I can still get a hold of them for you and get back to you tonight.

Thanks to everybody so far!

Like Vinny said about the regular ice cube trays, "The problem with the small ice cube trays is... the plug wouldn't come out easily and if it heated up, the plug would melt the tray."

Still can't find them anywhere... I do not want to waist one bit of any excess plug material.
