WTB - 14lb Equipment
« on: March 09, 2004, 04:29:16 PM »
I want to experiment with 14lb equipment instead of the 15lb's that I am currently throwing.  I am guessing the lower weight will allow me to be a more versatile bowler but I have some doubts too.  Anyway, I don't want to spend too much money on a new 14lb ball until I see how I bowl with 14lbs so I am offering the following:

I will pay $70 (including shipping) for a used 14lb ball.  I only want one ball for my experiment so please reply to this message and state what ball you are offering for that price.  I am looking for something for medium oil conditions, such as an Inferno, X-Factor, SS Pearl, etc.  Please post as much detail as you can about the ball. If you could double check the weight of any offered balls to make sure that they aren't actually light 15lb balls and not 14lb balls I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

I have a 14# Ebonite Savage that I would sell to you for $45, including shipping to KY.  I'm the original owner, so I know for a fact that it's not a light 15#, nor is it a heavy 13#.

It has about 60 games on it.  The thumb was plugged once to move it up a bit when I went to a shorter span.  The fingerholes have never been plugged, and it doesn't have a weight hole.

The span is 4 1/4" middle finger, 4 3/8" ring finger, RH drill, 2" pin.  It has finger inserts and a thumb slug.

It needs to be resurfaced, as I bowl on old wood lanes that put a noticeable track on a ball within 10 games.

Let me know if you're interested.

I don't have what you listed, but heres what I do have.

1. Savage flip- drilled with in above bridge,cg below. Thumb plugged once and moved 1/2 inch. Ball in good condition $40+shipping

2. Brunswick proactive powergroove- drilled pin above fingers,cg swung out to strong position with weighthole. Thumb plugged once but redrilled in same spot just to change pitch. $30+shipping

3. Brunswick reactive powergroove- drilled like proactive ball listed above. no plugs ever. coverstock was too weak for the oily shot I bowl on. $25+shipping

4. Green gargoyle- drilled stacked leverage. ball had multiple plugs but always redrilled in same spots. ball has been resurfaced several times and you can just barely see the logos so It is on the small side of legal, but it is cheap and good enough to play with. $15+shipping

5. Blue solid urethane hammer- drilled over label with finger and positive side weight. ball was plugged once with fingers redrilled very close to original spot and thumb moved 1/2 inch. $15+shipping

I have bowled with all the above equipment and can guarantee that they are indeed 14lb balls and not 15lb

If you wanted, I would make you a package deal. You can have them ALL for $100 + shipping if you want. I am throwing visionary now and wont be using these anymore.

I do have a paypal account if you are interested.
