Are these blems?  Just curious.

No tb, no blems here. If they were blems I would have stated that in the description. I just got a REALLY good deal due to my affiliation with one supplier and my Storm VIP Shop status.

Well then Freakzilla I would suggest you consider yourself lucky.

$175 drilled for such a ball is quite a deal around my area. Most shops across the nation are selling the ball for $199 and up.

I consider a $25 savings a deal.

If you don't, then we can agree to disagree on that. But I think most will agree at $175 drilled, it's a pretty good deal.

Even if buying the ball only...$140 vs Buddies reg price of $135 is not bad. Now yes, they do have them on sale right now for $125. OK no prob...anybody want one for $125 plus shipping? I've got 2 cases to sell....

Geez, talk about cheap people.  There are pro shops that sell them for 229 BEFORE drilling, grips, and tax.  You wanna have fun?  Go spend 300 bucks for a ball somewhere.  And I'm fairly sure the money Doug makes on the balls will hardly be worth his gas to drive to and from the shipping place.

I don't think Doug is out of line with his pricing...  I mean, $35 to drill it up with thumb slug and inserts is a good deal (I'm remembering a thread from a few months ago about shops charging $60 or more for the same).  If you can get someone to do that for $20 then I suggest you stay there cause there aren't many who are willing to give away services for next to nothing.

As for the ball, $140 when they're selling elsewhere for $199 - I'd say it's a good deal.  Maybe you could find a better one, but this isn't bad.

He's right guys...buddiesproshop is selling them right now for $125 but that is their sale price and they just dropped the price no 48 hours ago.

OK so they have them for $125 plus shipping....I can do that...why not???

So guys there you go...$125 plus shipping for the X Factor Reloadeds.

How many do you want???

Ok.....you buy from Doug....save some cash(always nice).....have him drill it.  What do you do if you get it back and a mistake was made or there is some tweaking to be done?  You gonna send it back to Doug?  I dont think so.

Hey people, I know this is a free world, but if you don't like the prices go to some one else. There is no need to keep cutting on Doug. If you want to go to buddiesproshop.com, thats great, I have used them several times. If you are worried about some minor tweaking on the ball most on this forum has the knowledge, and tools to do that.

Thanks for the defensive words pnj but it's not needed... if people choose to run off at the mouth about topics they have no knowledge of, let them do it. I have never drilled a ball for Darren and he knows it.

Ask SawMill or Typhoon or Axeweldr about my drilling. I have never had 1 single complaint about my drilling, but nobody ever asked about that. I have numerious references but I have only ever had 1 person ask about them. Ask Brickguy221 about how thorough I am in getting specs and making sure I understand what they mean.

What happens if something is wrong? simple....I STAND BEHIND MY WORK. If it is my fault, I replace the ball AND pay the shipping to get the old one back.
Case in point...

I had a guy buy a Deuce late this spring. He liked the reaction of his Trauma ER (until the core cracked) so I drilled it the same exact way. He was less than happy with the reaction. The ER actually hooked more than the Deuce. So I replaced the ball....no questions asked. He was very concerned that I would be cutting myself short. I said too bad if I lose money on the deal...it's my fault and I'll fix it.  That's right....you heard me...NEW BALL I didn't plug the old one and redo it...because it was my fault as a driller.

Now if you give me the wrong specs, it's not my fault. I drilled a Spare Storm for someone and I drilled it exact to the specs he gave me...well he complained it was too short. The spec sheet he gave me said Full Grip on it so I asked if that meant it was the total span, he said yes. So I drilled it as that was the full grip. Well it wasn't. Was that my fault? no. I did offer to pay to have his local shop fix it. The guy said he didn't want a "new" plugged ball. So we compromised and I gave him a better ball off my used rack...I think it was a storm eraser or something in place of the spare storm and I paid shipping to get it back.

As I have said...I am about customer service. 5 years at WalMart taught me that much...the customer is what matters. Profits are nice but make the people happy and they come back. If I am in the wrong, I'll make it right. If it was due to wrong information coming my way, we'll work something out.

5 years of the business, 100's of balls drilled and 2 mistakes. Not bad in any arena...

I just called one of our Local pro shops.

    Xfactor reloaded         $199.00
    Coventional Drilling     free
    Finger inserts           $15.00
    Thumb Slug               $15.00
    Tax                       $9.95
Total ball out the door  $238.95

I have had 3 balls drilled by Doug, and not once have I ever needed a drilling tweaked.

 Dougs price     $125.00
 shipping        $15.00
 Drilling
w/thumb/finger   $35.00

Total to my door $175.00

Thats a savings of over 60 dollars. Wow What a deal

I echo and support pnj's comments as he is correct in saying what he said.....And ditto for what Doug said about getting specs and understanding what they mean. Let me tell you, he gets it right down to the smallest detail and leaves no stones unturned.......To sum it up, he makes sure we're both "singing out of the same hymn book" before drilling. As for maybe having to tweak the ball, that isn't going to happen if you give him the correct information to begin with.

If I were not in the current situation that I am in rest assured I would have a reloaded. As for you hoping he was selling them for $100.00 shipped that just proves Pchee's point on cheap bowlers.

I don't really need to respond here because I think that pnj, brick and typhoon have really suimmed it all up for me but...

I'll respond to you with a question....

How many do you think I have sold? You see I asked for them to EMAIL me and not repond to the post so guess what...the number of responses has NOTHING to do with the number I have sold.

I have sold roughly 1/2 of what I ordered but I will and am able to get more so keep the requests rollin in guys!!!

As I have said in the past...I am here to work with you and get you the best deal I can. I don't need to make $50 per transaction to be happy.

Thanks again to all who have ordered and I will be in touch as soon as I see the balls...which should be tomorrow or Monday!!!

First off Doug, Pnj and others.....

I wasn't running off at the mouth about something I don't know anything about.  It wasn't a slight on Doug or his work....was a simple question that Doug and others got overly defensive about.  Doug and I have dealt before in the past with no problems I am aware of.  Having been a bowler for 27yrs and having my father run a proshop for 14yrs, I think I have a "clue" about proshop workings.  The reason I asked the question is because I know of SEVERAL PS operators that will not touch a ball that was not drilled by them unless they are going to plug it up and fix it.  And no....not nearly as many bowlers as you think carry the tools to tweak their equipment.  Personally, I have a very delicately milled thumbhole that I seriously doubt anyone could copy on the first try, so it wouldnt be beneficial for me to take this gamble so to speak.

Doug's prices are well inline, as I stated before.  Doug's reputation is stone solid.  Neither point did I ever put into question.  Don't accuse peeps of shooting their mouth off until you look a little more closely.

D M,

First of all, I have had Doug drill over 7 balls for me and HE HAS NOT MADE A MISTAKE.  All anyone has to do is take a ball that fits perfectly, ship it to him, and HE WILL MATCH IT PERFECTLY, and will ship it back to you.  Oh and by the way , IF, and I say it lodly again, IF he were to make a mistake, I would ship it back and he would make it right, BUT I have not had to do that yet!!!!!!!!

Well DM call it defensive or not but what I saw was a need to tell the people involved what I WOULD DO in such a circumstance. I have every right to be defensive when someone attempts to deal with a facet of MY business.

It is quite obvious that you don't know how I operate (or at least didn't) and proceeded to show your lack of knowledge of my business operations with your post.

So the need was there to clarify the situation so that people do not think that what you said was how I would deal with things.

And as for your "delicately milled thumbhole" some people need that and that is fine. Thats why I have access to a digital $15,000 milling machine where I can set up a program and mill out a thumbslug when needed. I have a master machinist ready to help me whenever I need anything done.

I agree, nice price but if I had wanted to get 16# balls I could have gotten them cheaper too. It seems that suppliers are having trouble moving the 16's so they charge less for them.

Thanks for the post!!!

Anyway...who wants an X-Factor reloaded in 15# for $125 plus shipping?

Can also do them drilled....
ball, inserts and slug shipped for $175
ball, inserts shipped for $165
ball drilled fingertip, no inserts or slug shipped for $155

How's that????

Also FYI...those of you that have ordered already will receive the new pricing.

Doug is my competition, but that is cheap.

I sell them for 229 regularly in my shop without anything done, grips slug, or tax.

See, look at the other prices, and all you that complain about ones like Doug's are just plain dumb.  Everyone else sells for making a higher profit, BUT because many bowlers are too CHEAP, they complain about 3 dollars (see another thread on Ceapness/Witness).  If you don't like the prices, just say thanks, then close your lips, and go shop elsewhere, so that those of us who eat up those kind of prices, and still get Doug's kind of service, can jump all over them.

DM,

You may have said YOUR piece, but their are alot more pices to this thread than yours.  The puzzle ain't complete untril ALL the pieces are in, and if the horse is dead then you do not have to keep reading or replying.  I do see more pieces for Doug's prices than I do for you comments.  I say let's make sure the horse is dead; there may be other pieces like yours, that might just resurrect that old horse, and we would have to shoot it again.

Well, as the initiator of this thread I reserve the right to do this. Due to the obvious tangent this thread had taken, I am going to lock this topic after the following post.

Once again the purpose of this post was to notify the BR forum that I have gotten access to 2 (now possibly 3) cases of X-Factor Reloadeds at a rock bottom price. I can sell these balls at VERY near regular wholesale price.

15# X-Factor Reloadeds...$125 plus shipping.

If you are desiring drilling services, I can provide those also priced as follow:

ball and fingertip drill with no inserts or slug...$155 shipped.
ball and fingertip drill with inserts OR slug....$165 shipped.
ball and fingertip drill with slug AND inserts...$175 shipped.

prices include shipping to the 48 contiguous US via UPS Ground. Tracking numbers will be provided via email when your order is entered into the UPS system if desired.

Please email me at dougsproshop@aol.com if you are interested in taking advantage of this offer.

Thank you all (well most) for your support and hospitality on this issue.
