Hammer and Brunswick Family are on fire lately! The Hammer Envy Tour is another ball that is a must have! If you loved the Obsession Tour, you will love the Envy Tour. It has that extra hook that you did not have with the Obsession Tour. Where you may have changed balls from the Obsession Tour because it could no longer kick out that 10-pin, look no further then the Envy Tour. This ball has provide a lot of versatility and allows me to open up the lanes a bit more than what I did with the Obsession Tour without losing performance! Plus, its a Black Ball!! You know any black ball is a must have!

Hammer’s newest Top Shelf launch, the Envy Tour Solid, is a newly engineered version of the popular Obsession Tour Solid featuring several improvements that should surely get lots of attention. The Envy Tour was developed to add a stronger and more responsive cover to the Obsession Tour core, creating that same unique shape, just more of it. I chose the layout I did to get the ball to roll forward a little sooner due to my slightly higher tilt, but transition a bit slower to really utilize that longer, stronger roll phase of ball motion. I have used it on a couple of different patterns and here is my assessment:

42 ft. THS (typical house shot): The Envy Tour Solid has been a very strong ball for the house shot in two centers I frequent. What I love about this ball is that it chews through the oil, makes a defined move off the spot, but is still predictable enough to control from shot to shot. Very versatile to cover changes, I took mine from box finish, down to 1000 and back up to 3000 polished, and it responds to all of those very well. If you are seeing too much early hook, take the cover up to 4000, too much length, just sand it to 1000 or even 500, it takes to those changes extremely well! Do not be afraid to adjust the surface to your game, this ball can handle it!

36 ft. Viper pattern: I roll on this pattern every Tuesday, and the Envy Tour Solid was the best ball in my bag on the fresh, alongside the Purple Pearl Urethane. Projection and speed control are key, and the Envy Tour at 3000 was the perfect matchup. It rolled forward perfectly and hit heavy through the pins, carrying the off pocket hits extremely well. As the night progressed, I was able to move slightly further inside, roll the ball firm off my hand, and it saw the friction consistently, making my moves easier and more trustworthy, resulting in higher scores and more confidence in the ball.

If you are looking for that “benchmark” ball reaction from a high end asymmetric, chews through the oil like the bigger solids but with a strong, continuous finish, look no further than the Hammer Envy Tour Solid. Went 45x4.5x45 on my Envy Tour and it is a beauty.  The Obsession Tour Solid is in my top 5 favorite balls of all time and I couldn't wait to drill up its successor.  The ball reaction is simple, with 2-3 boards more hook as a combination of both an earlier read in the oil and a pinch more pop down the lane.  Coming out of the box at 500/1000 it was really early for a few games and some lane shine + a trip to the spinner with a 2k pad made this ball a lot more usable than the ridiculous amount of grit it came with out of the box.

I have used this ball on everything from a 45' challenge pattern to a flooded tournament shot to short oil and it has given me a safe look in every scenario.  Whether I needed to get behind the ball with forward roll and more speed in the track or slow hook the lane from inside out, the Envy Tour has found a way to give me a look on a very wide range of oil patterns.

Compared to other balls in my bag, the Envy Tour is cleaner through the front than my Defender, Polaris and Quantums, yet reads the lane a bit sooner than my Knockout Bruiser, GB2 and Polaris Hybrid.

I recommend the Envy Tour to bowlers who bowl tournaments and will see multiple different oil patterns/lane surfaces.  Bowlers with low rev rates that need help seeing more hook will prefer the original Envy Solid with the bigger core, but anybody with a medium or more rotation will like what this ball offers.  The slightly stronger cover will make the Envy Tour a more usable option for more players than the original Obsession Tour Solid.
It is hard to say enough good things about this ball, but it may end up being a candidate for ball of the year.

The Envy Tour is one of the most versatile balls on the market today.  I've used it on sport, challenge, and recreational patterns, from 35' to 45' in length.  Drilling for me is pin above bridge with a 40 degree VAL angle.  It's pretty dull out of the box so don't base your opinion of the ball on the first couple of games.  It settles in and becomes more of its true self shortly after.

The shape is clean through the fronts, and it seems to see the friction at just the right point when it has its peak energy stored for maximum striking power.  I'd say it's slightly more angular than smooth, but of course that depends on the layout and pattern.

This is truly a must-have piece simply for the fact that it can be used across a variety of conditions.  Its only area of challenge may be when urethane has caused dry heads and it may see the lane too soon.  But otherwise, a terrific ball.

The envy tour is a versatile beast to say the least. Out of the box it ate long patterns up and gave me all the motion I needed. Once it got a few games in it and some lane shine I was able to still play deep but also play up the boards as well. If you’re a tournament player this will be a staple in your bag.

Very versatile and controllable. I like to throw it on sport patterns with a lot of fiction. Very easy to keep the ball in play and still goes through the pins great.
