LANE CONDITION

Length:41' house shot, 48' Kegel Eiffel Tower

So I drilled my Fierce Phobia using a 70 x 5 1/2 x 65 layout, which put my din down and under my bridge. It is the same layout that I used on my Phobia. This ball rolls great and fixes the only issue that I had with the Phobia. Since I'm a bowler with a higher ball speed I had difficulty using the Phobia on fresh oil. It was a great ball once the lanes broke down. This ball is much stronger in the mid lanes and still gives a very strong backend reaction. This ball gives you a great first ball option out of your bag!

The Fierce Phobia is the newest addition to the Upper Mid Performance line. This ball shares the same core as the original with the a Hybrid cover and comes at 2000 out of the box.

I loved the original so this was a must have for me. I was a little worried that with the surface, this ball might be a little lazy down lane. I was wrong there. Even with the surface out of box, this ball was plenty clean and makes a nice move off the spot down lane. doesn't flip by any means, but also more than an arc. This ball would be great for a benchmark ball and has become my benchmark.

Mine is drilled 55x5x40. The issue I had with the original is when I moved left, it really didn't want to turn the corner down lane. Just didn't have the strength to do so. The Fierce allows me to get deeper and it still retains the energy thru the pins. I have this being about 4-5 more than the original. This has been the first ball out of my bag for the last couple weeks and has gotten a lot of play in tournaments.

If you have the original and want just some more hook, you definitely want this Fierce Phobia. You will absolutely love it.

Likes: The symmetrical core on the Fierce Phobia is awesome!  This ball picks up in the mid-lane and hit hard.  Been a while since I have had a ball that will split the 8-9 consistently.  I would highly recommend this ball in anyone's bag.

Dislikes: When the lanes start to dry up, the ball does have a tendency to roll out.

COMMENTS

After loving the original Phobia from last year, I was super excited to drill the Fierce Phobia which is drilled similar to my original Phobia. With the stronger Semtex Hybrid coverstock, the Fierce gets into a roll earlier, yet still offers the same strong downlane motion needed to turn the corner when moving left. I am able to use this ball more on fresh lane patterns and yet still move in as the pattern breaks down a little bit. For me the Fierce Phobia is my medium-heavier lane pattern ball that will be 1st out of my bag on various lane patterns that I bowl on in tournaments. The Fierce Phobia is about 4-5 boards stronger overall than the Diesel and stores up more energy down the lane. This ball will be a great addition to my styles of bowlers

I really like what I see in this new release from Hammer and I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something that offers a great motion to have a strong rolling symmetrical ball in your bag. - it really continues through the pin deck!  Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!

With the standard 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for their balls, this is another added value for your money!

The Fierce Phobia is a great addition to my arsenal!!!  I drilled mine pin up 50 x 5 1/4 x 40.  The ball reads the mid-lane then makes a smooth controllable transition on the backend.  I coverstock at 2000 give me a predictable motion which is ideal on a more demanding pattern.  The original phobia was very good but the Fierce Phobia far exceeded me expectations!!!

Likes: I drilled this ball a little stronger than the Phobia just because I wanted something stronger than the Phobia even though it was stronger by nature. My phobia with my speed sometimes was a little weak on the fresh and needed something to open up the lanes when Fresh on a little heavier pattern.  Thats exactly what I got.  The Fierce Phobia is stronger than in the midlane and the backend than the Phobia but still drives through the pocket pretty strong and continues with some punch.  It definitely adds a 1-2 punch in that line.
