Hammer Hawg Wild:

Ball Specs
The ball being drilled was a 3” pin out with 3.00 oz top weight.
Drilling: Pin 4 1/2" from PAP and Mb 4 1/2" from PAP (approximately 55 degrees) pin is Above Ring finger, 3" above grip midline. Weight hole Target Weighted 2 3/4" from Grip center pitched away.

Bowler Information:
Track diameter is 10 1/2.
PAP is measured at 5 1/4 over and 3/8" up.
Average ball speed (foul line to head pin) is 17 mph.
Axis rotation is typically 90 degrees
Initial rev rate is typically 300 rpm, "Tweener"
Lane Condition and Pattern:
AMF Bowlero, HPL 9000 Panel. Used two different nights on two different patterns. Pattern #1 Dry Block. Clean outside, slight oil build up to center of lane, clean back end. Pattern #2 Oily lanes with semi clean backends.

REVIEW:
In one word WOW. 770 out of the box with it. The only thing that stopped me from shooting 3 300"s and a 900 series with it was 7 10 pins over three games. The ball had eyes for the pocket. This was pattern #1

On oil pattern #2 Heavy Oil and slight carrydown, the ball actually skidded more than I wanted which forced me out to second arrow and I had to play down and in, so it is clear the ball skids pretty good in oil. Finally hooked at 45'. The 4000 grit factory sanded surface not enough for this pattern.

This ball is much cleaner through the fronts and stronger on the backends over the Original Hawg, but does labor it's hook on oily lanes. You will need to sand this ball frequently to keep the 4000 grit surface, it shines up quick with oil build up. One of the hardest hitting balls I've ever thrown.

Thanks for reading my review.

This too will be a small review. I have had this ball for about 1 month.

Weight: 15lbs 3oz Top
Layout: Pin under bridge w/cg out 40 degs.
Surface: Lite use of Ebonite factory finish. Done on 4 sides
Reaction: With this ball being reactive vs. the Hawg, i naturally get longer smoother length. Off the dry the ball has a very strong, somewhat angular motion on the backend. This ball also has consistinly kept pins low and push straight back.

ball specs before drilling:

15 lb 3 oz
pin 3-4
top 2 3/4

Mapping.....   stacked leverage x hole on val 1/2 in below pap

oil pattern: 41 foot modified house shot (the closest thing to a tough shot in  the batava ny area)

Bowler comments:   I was hesitant to drill the ball stacked based on the several unsuccessful attempts at throwing stacked leverage balls...  my driller suggested that since i just dropped to 15 lbs that a stronger drill pattern may be necessary since i throw hard anyway........  i took his advice and let him punch it up stacked leverage

after throwing it about 20 games  i can tell u this is one impressive piece of equipment......  this ball is very controllable (strong  but controllable) the hawg wild is my first ball out of the bag it clears the heads with ease and revs up in the midlane really nice   but unlike most stacked balls i threw where they red the midlane and then made a hard right turn (i'm lefty) this ball makes a powerful arc to the pocket....  and drives thru the pins....

as far as carry with the hawg wild  i am carried alot of corners with this ball that would normally stay standing with some of my other stuff......

on a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best  i rate the hawg wild a solid 8......

its sad that hammer goes pretty much unnoticed in the western ny area,  you have a few guys throwing them  but not many like u see brunswick and storm   and i am a firm beleiver that hammer is as good as brunswick

Right Hand bowler, my favorite line is inside 20. Ever since I bought this Hawg Wild it has been a beast. This ball is really consist on the reaction. I have rolled it out of the box and polished. So far not to bad of scores. All these scores are tournament scores.
734
702
707
I must say not to bad since it only has 18 games on it.
Oh ya I did throw it in league one game... 298. I just trying my line of equipment in this house and shot 742 all with hammers..

LIKES: everything/ Dislikes: none
This ball is AMAZING!!! I have a 175 Average, low to medium revs, stroker, and a righty. I love this ball. It has an amazing hook. Not to strong or weak of a hook. If I throw it out to the 3 board it comes back. If I throw it over 10 board it doesn't over react. It is simply AMAZING. The color, name, strenght, everything!!! I don't know why anyone would need or want more hook than what it gives. Great on fresh or carrydown lanes. Well anyways thanks for listening. I LOVE MY HAWG WILD. Thanks Hammer...

*Fresh Lanes- Heavy oil in center and thins out to the gutter the house shot is about the 5 board. My Hawg Wild can be thrown anywhere in the oil. Hawg Wild is so smooth.... (Before I heard people talking about a ball being smooth and I thought what does that mean? It means that you can't hear the ball rolling, there is a second of silence, and then BOOM!!!) The lenght of the ball is great. It goes down and then explodes into the pins (Now I know why it is called Hawg WILD!) The ball never over or under reacts. It is perfect.*

*Carrydown lanes- Oil everywhere. It picks up its roll sooner than in the fresh lanes. Once it picks up its roll it goes staight towards the pocket, and only very lucky pins are left standing. On carrydown lanes my Hawg Wild is great. (I don't even think the ball knows what oil is!!!)*

* THE Color is great. It doesn't even look close to the internet picture it is way better. To see the real color look on * http://www.blockbusterbowling.com/catalog/CatalogMgr.pl?cartID=b-4130&SearchField=category&SearchFor=HAballs&template=Htx/deptballs.htx&hdr=Hammer%20Balls&displayNumber=10 * under Hawg Wild.

(P.S.- I think I'm in Hawg Heaven )

I've been bowling for about 3 months now, and I just joined the winter league. The Hammer Hawg is my second ball since i've started bowling. This ball has incredible reaction, especially with the way i bowl. I bowl at around 18mph, heavy cranker. It flies all the way out, but always manages to come back in for the kill. So far, my league average is at around 170, i have bowled a 250 236 214 210, all in one day. When the lane breaks down just right, this ball is unstoppable. People didn't believe me when i would tell them that i've only been bowling for 3 months. I seriously feel like i'm cheating, because it feels like the ball's doing all the work for me hahaha i would definitely recommend this ball to any serious bowler. The only con is the fact that the ball likes to suck up a lot of oil, and also may over react if you're a slow bowler with heavy crank, but other wise, it's awesome

Great ball very controlable drilled one up bowled a tournament and won also shooting 805 and 300 using a pretty simple drilling just sticking the pin above the bridge and the cg kicked out about 2 inches from the center. Ball is great when you have some speed and it's dry you can also reduce speed on medium conditions but it doesn't like a lot of oil down lane.

I have a Hawg Wild, and it is great. I am 14 and before I got the Hawg I had a 178 average, after 4 weeks of bowling I raised my average to a 182, and my first series was a 641. The ball is easy to control and hooks when you want and seems to go right to the pocket. I also bowl the PBA experiance league, and it is easy to adapt with this ball. I would recomend this ball to any serious bowler.

Thanks for looking, Ryan

Pin under ring, cg kicked right, box finish

Pros: Smooth, smooth, smooth
      Predictable
      Solid hit/carry

Cons: None that I can find

Overall: This is one of the very best Hammers that I've thrown in years, and I've thrown plenty of them. The ball shines on medium to medium-heavy patterns that demand smooth, consistent ball reaction shot in and shot out.

You can play up the track or from the inside with some swing, but I think this ball likes a happy medium between the two. League bowlers will be able to stay in the track area and just make small adjustments all night long, and tournament players will use this one to read the pattern and stay around the hole.

The movement and hit of this ball reminds me a great deal of the balls from the Diesel and Deal lines. It reads the midlane well and offers a very strong but smooth backend reaction with plenty of hit at the deck.

If you're a tournament player, you must have a Hawg Wild, if you can find one!
