Likes: This ballis a monster. I couldn't believe how well it cleared the heads and the backend reaction was amazing for a ball with so much surface.

Dislikes: Definitely not for drier lane conditions. If you miss left of your target you can forget about it.

After drilling a couple for different people and watching them throw the No Mercy Beat'n I had to try one for myself. I was skeptical about drilling a ball that is so aggressive because I usually can't use balls that hook alot. I figured it would be similair to the original No Mercy and start up to early for me.. man was I wrong.

I decided to drill the Beat'n to the recommended layout from Hammer to see what this ball really had to offer. The pin is placed above my ring finger with the CG near the center of my grip and the mass bias to the left of the thumb hole. My PAP is 4 3/4" right and 1/2" up.

As luck would have it, the good people at Executive STrike & Spare had just finished oiling the lanes when I got done drilling the Beat'n. From the very first shot I threw with this ball I knew I had a winner in my hands. The ball cleared the heads great, coasted down the lane and at about 45 feet made a turn to the hole. The energy this ball delivered to the pocket left the pins with absolutely no chnace. As I continued to throw the Beat'n from different angles the reaction and pin carry stayed true to the first shot.. excellent. I bowled about 5 games with it and scored very well all 5 games.

Overall I would have to say that the No Mercy Beat'n is definitely one of the strongest balls I have thrown to date. The reaction was smooth and consistent and it hit from almost every angle I could produce. Hammer definitely has a winner on their hands and I think the No Mercy Beat'n will be in my bag for a long time.

This ball is definitely way stronger than the original No Mercy. I like the strong move on the backend and the carry that this ball delivers when hitting the pocket. I could even hit the pocket light and this balls would blow the pins away. The ball rolled very smooth and controllable in the mid part of the lane. I threw the ball for two games and had a 262 and 239 game. This will be a great ball for Hammer.

First Impressions:
The No Mercy Beat'n is definitely longer and stronger than the original. Even with both balls scuffed to 800 grit grey scotchbrite I noticed the NMB get about 3 to 4 more feet of length before exploding on the backend.

General Thoughts:
Usually in the summer, the house I bowl in is very humid. The oil likes to spread across and carry down is very problematic. In the winter, the oil holds up better and carry down is some what of a problem but not as often. I have stood as deep as 35 on the approach yet still getting the ball past 10 at the arrows while the ball still breaks through the nose! Angularity for this ball is an understatement! It does handle a good amount of oil with the grey scotchbrite surface as well.

Comparison/Contrast:

No Mercy vs. No Mercy Beat'n

The original gets into its roll alot sooner and smooth arcs its way into the pocket while the Beat'n gets 3 to 4 more feet of length down the lane before it starts to make its left turn into the pocket! The Beat'n is longer and stronger of the two. If you are looking for a more roll type reaction, go with the original; however, if you seek more angle and snap on the backend, I would look into the Beat'n!

Conclusion:
Very decent high performance ball with the capability to handle thick volumes of the slick stuff. Very angular and snappy on the backend.

Incredible backend right out of the box.
First game 247. I had the entire right side of the lane.  Although when the lanes break down, either throw it harder or change your finger placement.

If I were bowling with the gods in heaven, I could throw this ball to .... and it would come back with a killer backend that drives through the pins.
Pins have no chance  when they are hit with No Mercy Beat'N!

This ball is kinda sweet starts to break about 3/4 of the way starts to grip and ripp thru the pocket at about 36 or 37 degrees to the pocket drills it pretty hard good for 40ft of oil havent had the 4,9,8, syndrome yet with it like my blue alien thank god. great ball for me

Ball reviewed on a 40 ft house shot with heavier oil. Most players in this center play outside of 12 , and never really get inside of the track area 15 to 5. I drilled this ball the way Hammer recommends exactly like my original no NM. This ball was supposed to replace my first NM which has over 125 games on it. This was not the case. The BEAT'N just does not create the midlane roll like the original. NM BEAT'N forced me to the middle of the lane playing 20 to 12. with the original I could play the far outside say 17 to 5 and the midlane that ball created would continue through the pins. BEAT'N just goes to long to play this area. Unfortunately the house I wanted to use this ball at is wide open in that area. On a positive note I moved far less due to the length this ball created, but the sharpness of this breakpoint caused me to leave alot of 7 pins. 660 new out of box. I might put a 4000 polish on ths to compliment my Cherry Vibe in my med. oil house I think this ball could open up a shot on medium oil with clean backends, just cant plow the oil like the original. If you're looking for a heavy oil ball look to the original or go with the Anger


Update; Played with surface, hand positions, lane conditions ect... Decided on a re-drill. Thank goodness I didn't part with this one!! Placed pin around  
4 3/4 from pap with mb in first flare line even with thumb hole. I was told drillings with the heart under the thumb were weaker no matter if it was in the first flare line or not. This new drilling even with a longer pin is 5-6 boards stronger down the lane than before. Shot 798 first night with this new layout, only 2 solid 7's cost me 800. Probably carried more that shouldn't have been. This ball still isn't the monster they advertise it to be, but is fast becoming my benchmark ball fitting perfectly under my Anger and above my Cherry Vibe. Good strong move off the end of the pattern hard hitting predictable and very versatile. Great ball Hammer !!!

Had this ball for awhile and is now my favorite. I'm thirteen years old and been bowling for three years. I have a 16-19mph ball speed and high revs. This ball goes long and then makes a giant turn to the pocket. This ball does soak up alot of oil so i recently put it in the oven to get all the oil out of it. I bowled with it on my league and it curved like new. I was standing right next to the ball return and throwing it at the 3 arrow with a speed of 19mph. This ball is like the original no mercy but goes longer and has a biger backhand

This ball works for me jus for two weeks, them is a disaster!!! and thats whats make me think "i never buy a ball from hammer " hahahha for heavy oil.

I mean, this ball is tooo special, u have to cleaning  every 3 games and is the all cycle, clining, abralon etc.

so... i feel like a i have a baby, cleaning everytime.

This was my last proof with Hammer for  heavy oil.

No Mercy Beat'n Turning a Noob into a Pro

Hello every one about 9 months ago I bought my NM, after practicing with it for 1-2 months I broke 200. When I first started I started with a starting in the league with 100-120 pin average with my Ebonite Black Ice Bowling ball. a month later after experiencing bowling with a Finger tip ball I had a consistency of 130 average. Then I found the ball that taught me everything I needed to know The No Mercy Beating I got it drilled to http://hammerbowling.com/wpimages/no_mercy04.gif High track.
2 months later I joined a High School Bowling team and I had a 160 average and qualified for the spot. Soon after on our first game they put me in depending on me to win as the last bowler on the list. I bowled a 202 and soon after that my average went up to 170-180 then 190. 6 months after I bought the ball on King of the Hill my Normal PBA league house shot. I shot 9 strikes in a row, on the 10th frame Great Strike ball like the rest but the 10 pin stayed up, and did again after I picked it up.  Every one is telling im born natural to be so well in this sport after 9 months. my speed is now 15-16 mph and consistent and lands in the same place every time. Well enough with my story Heres my review.

Pros:I had it drilled for light oil, on the house shot it spans 6-12 boards on my house shot which is light/medium oil. I break 600 series each week and continues. This is by far the best ball I have bought in my early career.

Cons: Does not work well on Sport shot oil moves 3-4 boards full speed, moves full hook at 7-9 MPH Low speed. you have to baby the ball cleaning it after every 3 games, if you don't you have to drain the oil by Hot Water bath or Car heat or Oven, Or Drying powder. The ball I bought from the dealer ripped me off LOL, I paid $230 which was with in the month it came out. Ball Chips easy if thrown wrong I have about 5 chips that look like half a dime dug in. LAST Coverstock Absorbs the lain oil like a sponge which makes the hook crap if not cleaned ALOT!

 Here is my review sorry its crapy but im sure some young bowlers like me would like to hear about it
