- Description: Jigsaw starts out with a brand new core for Hammer. We started building Jigsaw with a low rg, high differential core system. But we didn''''t stop there. Our R&D team removed a critical piece of the puzzle from the core, and created an extremely high mass-bias wedge in the core shape. The result is the highest mass-bias ball in the history of Hammer! High mass-bias core shapes give the bowler more backend reaction and continuation without loss of energy, and the Jigsaw certainly delivers that! We''''ve also developed a new coverstock for our Jigsaw release. Our new Burst Reactive 5/4 Coverstock is unique in two ways. First, this coverstock is a breakthrough for us in length and backend combination. Our mad scientists have developed this coverstock to push through the front of the lane cleaner than any sanded ball in our line. But the midlane and backend is where this coverstock pairs up with the core system, and takes control. Jigsaw rolls heavy through the midlane and doesn''''t stop in the backend. This is truly a unique ball reaction that we simply have not seen before. The Jigsaw comes in a never-used, Black and White color with Orange logos. There''''s no doubt that bowlers will know exactly what ball is being thrown when they see this high-performance product going down the lane. Finally, our new coverstock finishing process has been applied to the Jigsaw to create a unique ball motion. Our new 500/4000 process gives the Burst Reactive 5/4 coverstock the ability to skid through the front part of the lane without early hook. But the 500 grit under-surface gives Jigsaw''''s Burst Reactive 5/4 coverstock the teeth to cut through the downlane oil, giving this ball the most backend reaction in the history of Hammer products! Jigsaw is a new breakthrough for Hammer in bowling ball motion.

Another good ball from Hammer, did not fit in my bag on Pro lanes and have not tried it on SPL's at this time. Drilled it with a 40-4.5"-45 layout and the ball was fantastic out of the box, after throwing it a few weeks with minimal maintenance it was not as strong. I cleaned it back up and just don't have enough hand to let it work on Pro lanes, will give it another shot on the SPL's before long.

When I have some oil on the lanes, the Jigsaw is THE best ball I have seen since the Forest Green Quantum. A few weeks ago it gave me at 300 with a 762 series.

I bought this ball 3 weeks ago to use on long oil patterns and heavy oil sport patterns. This ball exceeded my expectations. I had the ball drilled pin 4" from pap with the pin drilled out on ring finger, cg stacked with MB below my thumb and to the right. With the box finish at 4000 i wasn't getting the back-end i wanted, then I changed the finish to 2000 abralon and WOW what a sweet reaction. I am a med revs med speed player and this finish works for me. Unless you have high revs I suggest 2000 abralon. In heavy oil this ball glides through the heads, makes a slight turn mid-lane then a nice strong controllable back-end to the pocket with little or no deflection. I love this ball. Very smooth and consistent. Below is my viedo review of the hammer jigsaw bowled on a 45ft sport shot, heavy oil, conditioner spread left to right.

where should i start  i drill it label down and in player 10th board  and must say that this ball sucks  it hits very hard dont get me wrong i had at out of the box -- brutal reaction  just plain 4000 grit--- no reaction until its too late and had it 2000 ----a little better but hit like a piece of crap  when i needed to strike the most so out of 10 overall rating is a 6  and i am being nice  about to sell the damn ball if no improvement only bright spot is carries light hits very well but cant depend on that to score we all know that  i hate the color too i do better with dark color balls dont know why

I'll try to resist posting any comment about the prior post.

I drilled this ball 3 days after it was released and have used it in league nearly every week.  I feel as if I understand this ball enough that I can offer some solid advice and a credible review.
15#  3 3/8" pin   2.5oz top
Drilled stacked (wanted strong, but consistent motion)with pin about 2:30 from ring finger, MB 2" right of thumb, small x-hole on midline on VAL taking out 3/8 of an ounce.

As for reaction:  the ball revs very smoothly off my hand (check profile for form) and Hammer's advertising about the ball's continuation is no exaggeration.  To be honest, its somewhat puzzling that carry and continuation don't coincide.  It seems that carry lacks, but I can't say that the ball doesn't hit hard or finish through the rack.  I can only conclude that the outsides are so sloppy that I should expect the unexpected.

I do agree with most posts that I had to adjust the surface to acquire the backend I was looking for (Hammer doesn't really push the "backend advertising" for this ball).  The 5/4 was taken to strictly a 2000 grit Abralon and was perfect.  Our lanes play tight (mainly because management decided to add oil to the outside 8 which effectively erased 16 boards from the surface of the lane), but this ball has put a smile on my face since league began.

My overall thoughts (so I don't continue rambling):  If you're looking for a ball that isn't "jumpy" off the spot, but need a strong continuous backend then you may want to do a little detective work and look into getting a JigSaw.  Its not going to be the strongest ball out there, but is very consistent and forgiving which is a combination any bowler would like.
A very good ball from Hammer - especially since the Black Widow line has ran it's course in my opinion.  Looking forward to a pearl version!

Style: Power player
Speed: 16.5-17.0 mph (down lane)
Rav Rate: 450-480
Axis tilt: very little
Axis rotation: 35-40 degrees

Layout (dual angle): 65 X 6 X 40, no extra hole

What I was looking for in this layout was to get the ball cleaner through the front part of the lane and give me a good pop on the backend without being too wild. 1st day i threw this ball, i got just what i was looking for, i was very impressed with the motion, but not how it was inconsistent in reading the midlane. Took the surface down to 2000 and it was a whole new ball! it read the lane exactly where i wanted it and this thing HITS LIKE A HAMMER!! The jigsaw is a flat out tank. i can move just about as far left as i want and this ball comes back every time, yet i can move right, keep some speed on the ball, and it takes the dry part of the lane pretty well.

Overall, i would say this ball is great for a heavy volume of oil, and still punches pretty good on the medium stuff. if your looking for a ball that eats the heavy oil up and doesnt quit, buy the jigsaw.

Drilled this beauty with a 60 by 35 dual angle layout. pin is above ring finger. 20mph ball speed abut 450 rev rate. this ball is fantastic it picks up early in the midlane with a nice smooth continuous back end reaction..i am averaging 240 with this on a house shot but more importantly i have made 2 out of 2 tournament cuts on the shark pattern. this baby hits hard and is one of the loudest sounding balls at impact i have heard...Great Great Great ball

Purchased this ball about 3 weeks ago, placed the pin at 12:00. At first  I rolled it at 4000 oob 1st game was a 225, next two games ball seemed inconsistent then I sanded it to 800 with a little polish and BOY !!!
the next week I shot a 808 series then in another league I shot a 719 series. This ball is a keeper!!!! last Sunday i noticed all my friends purchased Jigsaws 3 to be exact....Coincidence I don't think so

I am very happy with the ball, overall. When first purchased, the factory finish of the ball, wasn't giving me the early break and strong follow-through, I was hoping for But after sanding it down...the ball rolled up early and had a killer follow-through. The ball appears to react quite well on medium to heavy oil lanes, but does have a tendency to burn out after a few games. Overall, the ball has a great hook and a hits quite hard. I am very happy with this ball and recommend this ball to anyone.

Purchased my 15lb Jigsaw about 3 months ago. Soon after I posted my highest game ever with a 286 back in January. Then last night (3-4-10) posted my first 300 game after 30 years of bowling. This ball is the real deal. Still won't correct my own faults but as long as I let the ball do the work it hits like a bomb. Way to go Hammer. You are really onto something with the 5/4 finish. I usually face medium oil at best and this ball clears the heads better than anything I have ever thrown and it also carries more energy to the pocket than I have ever seen. Thanks Hammer!!!

Been using the Jigsaw since it came out.  It is now my go to ball when the lanes break down.  I have it drilled with Track's mass bias placement of 2.25" off the thumb hole.  Works great and hits like a truck.  High series with this ball is 799 with 8 279 games.  Well worth it.

I waited until the end of the year to share this.  Ball was recommended and drilled by Center Lanes Pro Shop in Philly earlier this year and has paid for itself 10 times over.  Shot 300 in March followed by back to back 299's 2 months ago (not to mention the numerous 270+ games)!  Ball is awesome on tight and running lanes, all depends on your release.  Heck, I'm left handed and can make a 7-pin with it.  Versatile ball with great carry!
