BOWLING BALL:   HAMMER COLD BLOOD
CORE:       FIRST BLOOD
COVER :      "NEW" NBT PEARL
RG / DIFF      15# RG (2.48) Diff (.056)
LAYOUT:      70 X 5 3/4 X 50
SURFACE:   BOX FINISH 500-500-1000 ABRALON-POWERHOUSE CLEAN N'SHEEN
LANE PATTERN:   TYPICAL HOUSE 41', MEXICO CITY 45'

PROS:   Cold Blood is a great new add to our arsenol, complimenting the outstanding First Blood. Now with same core and NEW cover Cold Blood is stronger in the mids with the same strong angular movement as First Blood. It looked good on the house pattern, but looked outstanding on the long sport pattern. This ball never wiggled downlane, always had great contact to the lane surface, even in carrydown.

CONS:   none that I can see or think of at this time!

BOWLING BALL:   HAMMER COLD BLOOD
CORE:      FIRST BLOOD
COVER :      "NEW" NBT PEARL
RG / DIFF      15# RG (2.48) Diff (.056)
LAYOUT:      50x4 1/2x40
SURFACE:      BOX FINISH 500-500-1000 ABRALON-POWERHOUSE CLEAN N'SHEEN
LANE PATTERN:   TYPICAL HOUSE SHOT(LIGHT VOLUME) AND (MEDIUM-HEAVY VOLUME)

PROS:      I LOVED THIS BALL THE MINUTE I THREW IT! THE MOTION AND ANGLE THROUGH THE PINS MATCHED UP PERFECT TO MY GAME. ONE BIG PLUS FOR ME WAS WHEN I HAD TO CHASE THE PATTERN IN WITH THIS BALL IT CONTINUED TO DRIVE HARD AND KICK OUT THE 10 PIN, WHICH I TEND TO LEAVE ALOT WHEN I AM FORCED IN ON A PATTERN.

CONS:      NO CONS AT ALL!

BOWLER INFO:
PAP/Track:  5 1/8” x 1” up
Axis Rotation:  25 degrees
Axis Tilt:  12 degrees
Rev Rate: 440
Ball Speed: 16-18mph

LANE Patterns Used:
41' House Shot, 2013 ITC Sectional Singles Pattern (43'), Kegel Kode Challenge Series (40’ & 45’)

1st Ball Layout: 50 x 5 ¼  x 35
2nd Ball Layout: 60 x 4 ½ x 60

Likes: I was very excited to hear about this ball coming out since I liked the First Blood ball. For me the Frist Blood was a little too much over/under, until I put some surface on this ball. I drilled my 1st Cold Blood the same so I can compare the 2 balls. The Cold Blood is about 6 boards stronger overall with the extra traction earlier than my First Blood with the surface adjustments that I made to it (3000 Abralon). There is still enough push in the front part of the lane with the Clean N Sheen process of the cover, and this ball is very STRONG mid-lane motion ball that continues through the pin decks.
I have an Amp with the same layout (surface 2000 Abralon), and the Cold Blood was a few boards stronger in the backend than the Amp, which is what this ball is designed to be. I am going to be adjusting my surface on the Amp to have a little more difference between the Cold Blood & Amp.
The 2nd Cold Blood (pin down) is for the heavier patterns that I may bowl on in the future. I may adjust the surface on this ball to give it a little more length as it is too much ball for what I see in my area.

Dislikes:  Might be a little too much ball for the lighter patterns, which it is not designed to be used. There are plenty of options within the Hammer line for the lighter patterns.

With the success of the First Blood from last year, the Cold Blood is thirsty for more oil to play in. This is a ball that bowlers will need to have in the bag to combat the heavier medium to heavy lane patterns. The great thing about this ball is the backend movement it has. It simply does NOT quit turning… Again this ball will be about 3-5 more boards overall with an earlier movement than the First Blood, but with still a big backend motion that does not quit. The Cold Blood compliments the current Hammer lineup very well and I feel this ball will be a ball that most styles of bowlers will enjoy to have in their bag.

This ball is available through your local pro shop on October 8th, so make sure you add this new gem to your Bowling Arsenal.

Drilled and used this ball last night. I notice that its not as sharp on the backend as the first blood, but it definitely has the continuous motion us as bowlers are looking for. It reads early but not to the point where its troublesome. Real smooth through the fronts like the arson low flare with a nice arc backed and keeps going through the pins.

Great ball to have in your bag if you ask me!!

COMMENTS

Likes: Ball is very predictable and very smooth off the back of the lane. Never really over hooks like the First Blood. Will start messing with surfaces to see if we can get more pop off the back.

COMMENTS

Likes:  I'm thankful to be a Hammer Pride Staffer.  Jeff Ussery is awesome!  I love this ball and it's a great piece to have with the First Blood.  I drilled my ball 75x 4 1/2x35 with Ebonite Factory Finish.  I designed this ball for playing in the lane or deeper.  It revs up hard and nice angular arc to the pocket.  I can't wait to try on flatter patterns.

Dislikes:  None, this ball is intended for playing on larger volumes of oil and longer patterns.  It's not made for medium dry conditions.  We have other Hammer lines of equipment that will combat those type of condions.  I'm excited about how Hammer has really put great equipment.  It's a matter of time when the balls will be showing on TV.  Thank you Hammer!

Do you have ICE in your veins. With this ball you will. With this ball it makes a perfect top end heavier oil condition ball for me. Because of the duller coverstock I get a little earlier read in the midlane and still enough pop on the back end to get back to the hole that I didn't get with the first blood. This ball fits perfect in my bag when I need that ball I know will get back no matter what. If you are looking for a high end ball with great overall hook potential then you have to have the Hammer Cold Blood in your arsenal.

Likes: The cold blood is a great compliment to the First blood. The cold blood is a lot earlier and smoother on the backend. When the cold blood hits the dry it goes left and does not stop....great continuation. On oil this ball is smooth with great mid-lane, very controllable. If you want a high end ball for oil with great continuation, this is the ball for you.

Dislikes: So far no dislikes, except dryer lane conditions. But this ball still does not quit on the back. If you can get the ball down the lane the cold blood does not stop hooking.

- Coverstock: NBT Pearl
- Core Type: First Blood Core
- Factory Finish: 500-500-1000 Abralon®-Clean N' Sheen

LANE CONDITION: Several

Length: several

Volume:

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS, USBC Blue, Kegel Bourbon Street

COMMENTS:  First Blood Core from last last year's bomb, wrapped in the NBT Pearl cover finished with the 1000 grit Clean-n-sheen finish gave me a look about 6-7 boards stronger than my favorite First Blood.

Likes: I love what this ball does for me, it was just a bit too strong.  I had to hand polish this a bit to tame it to make it a bit more versatile for me.  This is another Hammer MONSTER!

Dislikes:Dry lanes
