After much anticipation, the Hammer Black Widow is back in a 2.0 version. The new Hammer Black Widow 2.0 showcases the original black and red colors as well as the original reaction shape that has been updated to perform on today's lane conditions. This ball provides plenty of traction on medium to heavy oil conditions and produces a massive continuous ball motion which gives a lot of angle resulting in the high scores the Black Widow bowling balls are known for. The Black Widow 2.0 core is the Gas Mask core, the same as the original. This core is wrapped in a Carbon Fiber outer core which provides durability and power. The coverstock used us the Aggression Solid which is finished with a 500, 1000, 2000 Siaair finish.

This ball is amazing with a capital A!
I went with my favorite layout with this which is 4 3/4 pin to pap.  Basically, outs the ring above and to the right of the ring finger.  This ball never quits.  You can circle the lane with it or still go down and in with it.  Either way you won’t see this ball stop.  Continue'd motion is the name of the game.  The original Black Widow Legend had it and this one is a chip off the block.  Love the look and the motion!!!  Get this one in your bag before its gone!!!

The Black Widow 2.0 is very much like the original Black Widow but a bit stronger.  I liked the surface out of the box which was very smooth and responsive.  Allowed me to close down the angles as well as open them up and was pleased that it was very predictable from every angle. This is definitely a ball to have in your bag and if you were a fan of the original, you'll be in love with this baby!!

Likes: It's back! The Hammer Black Widow 2.0 is a strong asym that is clean through the fronts, and predictable. It's a Hammer so it hit's like a Hammer! The new 2.0 is amazing and will be used on heavier oil conditions. I find it versatile on many patterns and just like other Hammer equipment you will enjoy the all new 2.0 . Look around you will see many bowlers using this one!

Likes:The Black Widow 2.0 is very much like the original Black Widow but a little stronger.  I stayed with the surface out of the box which was very smooth and responsive.  This allowed me to keep the angles tight or open them up as well and be very predictable from any angle. This is now my first ball out of my bag. This is definitely a ball to have in your bag and if you were a fan of the original, then you must have this one as well!

The Black Widow 2.0 has become a favorite for me when wanting to keep my angles fairly straight yet also be able to get the ball through the mid-lane easily.  It's really versatile and I love how when it starts it's move to the pocket it picks up momentum and drives through the pins.

I have the pin under the middle finger and the ball still behaves like a flippy layout.  Having been with Brunswick for a long time, when I was able to throw this ball I didn't know what to expect but always heard that the original Widow was a great piece.  That is certainly correct, the gas mask core plus the coverstock combine beautifully together for all styles.

I will say one thing, this ball like most nowadays, is fairly condition specific.  If I need to get left and open up the lane, I do need to move to either a stronger ball or a hybrid/pearl to get the hitting power I'm looking to achieve.

Nevertheless, this is a terrific, versatile ball that I'd recommend for any casual, league, or tournament bowler.

Likes: The original Black Widow solid was great, and this one improves, with more durability anticipated.  I've used my 2.0 about 20 games thus far.  It's great for playing straighter lines through the heads, then let the ball make move that's a tad more angular than many asymmetric balls.

I've added surface and tried on heavier volumes with success, but this ball likes house shots and makes me look better than I am.

Dislikes: Can't think of any.
