Sharp Blade
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
Description:

Sharp Blade consists of Hammer’s Classic Core, the same core used in the Sling Blade, and Power Grip Particle veneer, the very same veneer on the Vicious Particle. This combination allows the Sharp Blade to read and react to friction on the lane sooner than previous Blade balls, making it an ideal selection on medium to heavy oil patterns. Bowlers looking for big back-ending motion at an attractive price point need look no further than Sharp Blade.

Navy Blue/Green in color, Sharp Blade is now available through pro shops and distributors worldwide in 10 - 16 pounds.

I bought this ball a few years ago and out of the box i improved my average 13 pins ( 179 - 192).  now after moving to korea, i hadn't bowled in about 7-8 months with my equipment.  when i finally got my stuff in, i started bowling on a sunday nite house league here.  this past sunday i shot 199, 258, 265. i love this ball!  it's perfect for any lane condition!

A teammate had killed with this ball all year.

I looked up the specs and realized it was a Sling Blade in light load particle....why not!

Medium low rg and medium flare potential.  I had an Icon 2 which almost killed the condition....some days!  And the specs were similar so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Drilled it just like my rihghty partners ball but mirrored...pin under ring and cg stacked ...2 inch pin out ball.

The ball has been brought up to 2000 abralon and then polished and then waxed.
(long pattern but low volume).

This ball gives a little less push than my Icon 2 but also supplies a similar powerful backend....but different!

The move is sharp at the break but then controlled on the roll!  Despite the moderate flare potential th e ball can be aimed away from the pocket for a shallow swing.  And...it definetely carries.

Had not been able to use much but went in to the center the other day and they had just put out the 40 foot shot and much of my stuff prepped for our short run on top of leftovers top dog league were too long.

Took this out....had no trouble finding the proper length breakpoint...made it's distinctive "Sharp" move and had no problem...carrying!

Almost wished I'd put pin up higher but....a little surface tweaking may get this ball to get a slight amount of extra push.

Not pretty but attractive in its roll and hit!  An unsung secret for many!
