I needed a good dry lane ball, but I got a great dry lane ball. The Razyr works as advertised. I played right up/outside the first arrow and wow did the ball hammer the pins (no pun intended). The reaction of the ball was very predictable. don't let the price fool you. The pin layout is very straight forward, and it took no time for my local pro shop to have it ready to go. Bowled 225 out the box first game. It acts like a high performance ball in a entry level package.. This is a very good compliment to every bowler's arsenal. Another hit from hammer.

i have to agree...our lanes have been dry, no hold when you left, seems like more hook the more left you move..the razyr allowed me to play 14-8 with hold if i tugged it or recovery if i missed right..and yes this is what a THS normally does for a bowler but ours hasnt been so typical latey...i am more than impressed with this ball...i thought i would lose hitting power and carry with this ball, uh...noway...pins flying everywhere...211 with split in 8th frame between strikes, 266 2nd game with 7-10 in 11th...258 with 2 ten pins last game...others were fighting the heads while i had no prob..great piece by hammer!!!

I drilled my Razyr a couple of weeks ago for a 2nd shift league that is always tore to he11.  I drilled it as Hammer suggests and left oob finish on it.  

This ball is very good for this purpose.  It clears the burnt heads no problem and still has enough energy to turn to the pocket.  Carry can be a bit iffy depending on the oil carry-down but hasn't been big problem for me yet.  Last week I left five 10 pins in 2 games with it.  Two of those can be accounted for by my poor release.

I threw this ball on a fresh THS to see what it would do.  It goes straight unless you get it outside the 5 board.  It could be used if all of your other balls got stolen or something but there are way way too many other options for fresh oil.

This ball has a very specific purpose in my bag as it should in everyone's.  It is for very dry or burnt up lanes period.

This ball is very good for its intended purpose, which is dry lanes.

I have had this ball for only a couple months, and I have been easy on it. It is not my only ball. I generally carry 3 to 5. And I rarely use the same ball for 2 games in a row, so it has been used lightly. I work at night, and have been bowling in a morning league where they do not oil. Wood lanes, well kept and clean, but dry as a desert. I bought it for this league, where everything else was over-reacting.

The Razyr is about the best of the dry lane balls I own, and worked very well on this surface, getting down the lane and giving a smooth and consistent reaction when nothing else would stay right of the headpin. A previous poster wrote about this being a very condition specific piece, and I agree. It likes dry, and works better the drier the lanes are.

My only knock on the ball - aside from the girly colors, which I can get over - is that it seems to be a bit less than durable. I have only owned the ball a short time and have played the ball fewer than 20 games total, at a house that is well maintained and is not exactly known for beating up equipment. My Razyr has taken a ridiculous beating, and has numerous scars, scrapes, and damage - some pretty deep. A ball with this few games on it just should not be this beat up, in my opinion. And it seems to take more and more damage every time I play it.

Overall, this is one great ball for dry lanes.  It gets down the lane easily, even when that is a problem for other balls, and it does not over-react.  But if you really like it, better buy several, because it seems to be too soft or too fragile for everyday use, and it apparently takes damage way too easily. If this were my only ball, I don't think it would survive half a season before having to be replaced.

WOW i drilled this ball pin axis I have never been able to play on the right side of 20 but with this ball and this layout i can and hit still hits hard keeps the pins low for max action so very happy with this ball.

This ball needs to stay to the outside boards.  I was surprised how the ball can move to the pocket from that far away.  The ball won't recover from a throw with too much speed.  I seen the ball make a small swing on the outside boards 6 to 3 and get to the pocket without forcing a higher rev throw.  The ball has a very limited use if you can play/find a dry area.  This ball is very polished and may play to long I like a smooth roll to the pocket with a lower end ball. This ball seemed to jump late or opens if it hits oil after the break.  

I'd like to know how the cover reacts to 2000/polish. I wonder if you can swing the ball a little or if the ball reads early and rolls out.
